Whats the most you ever paid for a pistol & was it worth it ??

Paid $305 for a refurbished:
SIST. COLT CAL 11.25mm MOD 1927

Basically its an original M1911A1 down to the
sharp hammer and plastic grips.

Worth it? Hell yes! It is accurate as hell
100% reliable with anything I feed it and
is a great platform for anything I want to stick on it later.

Out of the 10 or so handguns I own this is
the best.:)

$630 w/tax for a Beretta 96 Brigadier. Worth it, and more.
Currently considering a 92 Elite II for 750 + tax.

Edit: All thumbs... 170 for an E2.... very wishfull thinking :D

NO. NOT WORTH IT!!

The most I paid was $525 for a NIB H & K USP 45F when they first came out (KF date code) in '95. I had always wanted an HK since the early '80's, but it turned me off to everything HK bacause of APPALLING fit/finish,ect. with that pistol.

Maybe mine was made the month of Oktoberfest:D Either way, QC was out to lunch! It should have never left the factory with ALL the fit/finish problems, ect.

For ME the motto should be: "In a world of compromise we do"

Why did I buy it you ask? Were my senses not working that day?
NO. They were taken over by the HK gods at Mt. Oberndorf.

What's the going rate for USP 45's these days ? ~$725 (Give me a break!). But maybe they NOW have better fit/finish ect.

I have about a grand into my Desert Eagle Bright Chrome .50AE. But if you want to include mags I'd go with my HK P7M13 (1000 plus another 85x3 for the 3 hi-caps) or my Glock 23 (450) with LaserMax (300) and 5 13 roundes (5x85) = 1175. I don't shoot the first one much, don't carry the second one much, but get plenty of use out of the Glock.

$404.00 + trade-in for a New Glock 27. I think the Kel-Tec I traded in was worth a bit more than I got for it, but I didn't want to deal with the hassle of selling it.

The best decision I've made in a L-O-N-G time ;)

After 20 years owning a small business without making much money, I deserved to give myself a completely unecessary luxury.

It was the new S&W Performance Center 952 9mm semi-auto for $1250. It is a beautiful, tightly fitted and accurate gun. Definitely worth it! I still haven't mastered it however so I alternate it with my 686 revolver which enjoy almost as much for only $500.

:)

Slightly over $800 for a S&W Super 9; yes, it's worth it. It's far more accurate than I am, and 15 rounds on tap adds to it's appeal. This pistol has been very reliable, and the hi cap magazines are readily available, priced from $20 to $40 a piece.

Paid € 750 for my P99 Military (9mm), another € 58 for the adjustable LPA rear sight and another $ 36 for the HiViz front sight from Earl's ($ 10 for shipping to Europe).

This makes a total (incl. taxes) of $ 740 and I have no regrets at all (BTW, this gun never failed, no matter what ammo it got)

I hope one day to buy a full size P88 (has to be worth the money) :D

I paid about $900 for my P7. I think the gun itself was worth every penny but my hand isn't strong enough to comfortably activate the cocking lever so I sold it.

I paid $680 for my P99 (before they lowered the price  ). I'm still wondering if it was worth it...

The most expensive pistol I own is a Feinwerkbau competition air pistol that last I heard was retailing for something over $1200. I bought it for $200 from a old guy who no longer wanted to shoot the airmatches anymore, what can I say, a great deal. The most I've ever laid out cash for was for a Kimber Ultra Carry, something over $700, a close second was a NIB Browning Hi-Power 40 caliber for $650.

most paid for a gun

i traded an '80 chevy pickup with lots of problems, for a nearly new sig 226 with three hicaps. we both felt good about the trade.

Well, after that last post I feel sort of embarrassed.

For me it's a tie, Either my Las Baer Comanche Monolith Heavyweight or my Wilson Combat two tonw Protector. Both purchases averaged around $1400.00.

Was it worth it? Absolutely!

$950 (before sales tax) for a Kimber Custom Stainless Target II. Absolutely not worth it.

On the other hand, bought a Beretta Elite II for $630...worth every damn penny.

I bought a SIG P229 that had been hard chromed, had trigger & action work done to it and came with both .357SIG and .40S&W bbls with two nickeled ten rounder mags and SIGLights NS for a whopping $925.00

Was it worth it?

Well I overpaid by about $100 but otherwise yes. I love it. It's my baby. Although I'm about to share my love with another gun... A SIG P220ST Deal Pending... Cost to me... about $665.00 But I plan on customizing it with Meprolights, action & trigger job and possibly plating in Nickel, Chrome, or Titanium Nitride. I am also considering LaserMax for P229

I would rather have two or three really expensive guns that I love and trust, then a whole closet full of ones that I didn't.

Most was 2250 for a custom 10mm Baer Heavyweight Monolith. Very worth it and definately would do it again.

Next most is $2000 for an unfired 44 automag md 180, Pasadena version. Very worth it, still unfired and still even have the original shipping box. As close to factory original as possible.
