What was your "good deal" of 2014?

Man a lot of you guys have some real nice friends.... LOL I got some good deals this year but none of them were free.

Unfair~ Freebies don't count. They weren't deals, they simple have a greater meaning called Love. Some of you are blessed.

I got a "pretty good" deal on a minty glossy blue CZ 75B - $450 all in; a pristine brushed nickel Kahr K9 with walnut grips $450 all in. Also picked up a Baikal 12 gauge O/U for about $300.

Ruger Speed Six. Not really a super good price, but, what a NICE shooting revolver it is........ I almost forget about the Berretta 92 FS unfired for $450.

I didn't really get any stellar deal. I would say that the hkpro group buy on the VP9 was one of the better deals. I paid $623 shipped for my LE model. It's a great gun.

I picked up a M&P .40. Not a smoking deal but a fair price. About the only great deal I got was finding two used Sig 220 mags in a pawn shop for 20 bucks each. At the time you couldn't find 8 rounders at all. Now they seem
To be available again but at normal prices of about $40 or higher per mag.

A Browning BDA .380 with 4 magazines for a "good price". No gun has fit my hand so well, and it is beautiful to boot!

I traded a brand new black Sccy CPX2 for this,

Don't know about a deal I got, but...

I do know about the deal my two sons got free... from me! One (Captain USAF) got a Colt Commander Series 70 45ACP and the other (LCDR USN) got an HK 45c. Who did better I have to ask?

I was presented with a Springfield Range Officer, as a sort of "lifetime achievement award" by my IDPA club.
I'd whiffed in twelve years of trying to win a gun off the prize table at our annual sanctioned match, so the guys took pity on me and gave me one. :)

A friend who was cutting back on his collection as he was getting older...like me. He was referred to me by another close friend. He brought four such firearms is pristine condition. I had interest in three that I didn't have. I had a budget I was willing to spend. When I made him an offer, on a high-power 45-70 rifle, a .44 Special revolver and a Spanish 9mm semi-auto, he said, "$1 each if you make a donation to a non-profit of your choice." I was taken back with in what he had said, but knew his intent and interest in helping others as a retired physician. I made a hefty donation to my favorite, local non-profit agency. This doesn't happen often!

My best deal in 2014 was a Korth rimfire revolver that I bought for $450 in a package deal. It was in rough shape with some light surface rust that cleaned up well.

I ended up picking up a LNIB S&W M&P Pro CORE 5'' .40cal with 6 magazines, a Leupold Deltapoint, a cheap NcStar Light/Laser combo, 100 rounds of Federal Hydra Shoks, and $350 rounds of FMJ ammo... from a used gun board... all for the whopping price of $400.

After five or so years of looking I finally found a 98% condition 3 1/2" M 27-2. I paid a lot for it, but before I even started the transfer paper work I was offered 25% more than I paid for it. I was tempted to sell it, but I've still got it.

Now the problem is, it's to heave to carry much and almost to nice to shoot, so it sits in the locker, most days. Oh-well.

I got what I consider to be four decent deals:

#1 is this NIB 19-2 with matching box and paperwork. The SAT and cleaning tools were still in the unopened packaging. $650 OTD through a LGS.

#2 was this 27-2 LNIB with the presentation case, but missing the papers. Bought from the same shop as the M19, I walked it out the door for $725.

#3 was a total impulse buy. When I was buying the M27, I spotted this 15-3 in mint condition. I just had to bring it home too at $400 OTD.

#4 is by far and away the rarest gun I own. I bought this off of a Armslist add that I responded to. It is a Model 1899 Target Model .38 Handejector. Probably one of much less than a hundred (maybe as few as twenty five), surviving first model targets. I got it with a box of ammo for $250 in a face to face deal. Serial number places it as having been manufactured around 1901
