What is your Self Defense Revolver?

My primary is a 12 ga Mossberg pump loaded with low recoil 00 buckshot, but my backup is a 7-shot Smith & Wesson 686 plus loaded with Cor-Bon hollow points.

My bedstand gun is a 3" SP101 stoked with short barrel +P .38 spl Gold Dots.

For backpacking it'll have 180gr Federal Castcore rounds.

One of these two is always with me. The 649 has had my attention the most! Just love the stainless steel. The Hornady CD ammo is just tops!

First post (Hi Guys). I just got a Ruger LCR .38 loaded with Hornady CD 124 Gr. to carry when I can't conceal my Kimber CDP II. Now the Kimber feels like it weighs a ton when I put it on. It only took me 40 years to figure out why light .38 snubbies have remained popular for almost as long as the 1911 .45

For the last 25 years, its been a S&W model 57 with a 4 inch barrel with 210 gr. hollow points. Why bother with something that "might " be enough!:D

3in SP101. I need to find a nice holster for it. For now I picked up a generic Uncle Mikes Size 0 at the local hardware store.

Given my choice/time it's my 4" Security Six. Not given the choice/time what every revolver is closest. I'm not passin by a .22 or a single action on my way to the better gun.

S&W 649 with some add-ons

This is the first gun I bought back in 2006 and I totally dig it. Ive become very efficient with speed loaders, Ive added a red ramp front sight, had my jeweler buddy detail the rear sight notch with flat white paint, and slapped on Pachy Gripper grips. I must confess this S&W Bodyguard humpback 649-5 looks great. J frames take a while to master but can be shot accurately AND quickly. I only practice in double action, one handed, two handed, and off-handed.

S&W 940 snubbie (9 mm revolver uses moon clips). J frame, 2 loaded moonclips fit in a standard plastic prescription bottle (took off the childproofing for pocket carry, acts like a charger when I put it over the cylinder). Only drawback is that I have to be careful not to put too much finger inside the trigger guard.

I have been carrying a model36 S&W with three inch barrel but i just found a holster with the right cant so i can carry my Colt Mark V Trooper 357 that my shirt will cover just right.I would like a shoulder holster for it though.:)

Ruger SP101 2" DAO, IWB with Speer short barrel 357's.
Plus a NAA 22mag, 1 and 5/8", with the belt clip grip off of ebay (G10 non-folding), loaded with Hornady 45 grainers.

On a lazy day the SP101 gets switched out with a S&W 638, IWB stoked with Speer short barrel 38's.

Around the house lazy carry is a full bob S&W 637 with Clipdraw IWB.

HD is whatever I have on me or my Glock 19 or a Mosin Nagant. I really need to get me a shotgun soon.

I have a couple of options. For hiking/camping, either my Ruger Single Six in .22/.22 magnum (if plinking is on the agenda) or its big brother, a Ruger Blackhawk in .44/.44 magnum. At home, either an S&W older model 66 in .38/.357 or an airweight S&W model 637 in .38.
