What is your all time favorite "fun" caliber for the range?

I have been wanting to post a thread here to see what kind of answers I would get.

What is your favorite handgun caliber for the range that is just plain fun to shoot? One or two that you enjoy more than any others?

To answer my own question, I would have to say 357 Sig and 10mm are my favorite fun rounds to shoot. They pack a mean punch, and it is a blast(literally) to shoot 2 liter bottles full of water with them.

Let's hear yours.

.22 LR. Doesn't deafen you, doesn't beat you up, cheap to shoot (most .22 LR's cost about .04 to .05 a shot - match that price with your surplus ammo!).
Another plus is the number of neat guns I have in this chambering.

Shooting a .45 out of a 1911 is something special, wish I could afford to do much more offen. But my Ruger Super Redhawk .44 magnum is incredible to shoot.

1st: 1952 Model 70 in 270.
2nd: 1982 Ned Buntline Commerative in 45 Colt.
3rd: 1946 Remington 550-1 in 22LR.
4th: 1980 Marlin 782 in 22 mag.
5th: 1886 Winchester in 45-70.
6th: 1970 SW Model 36 in 38 Special.
7th: 1886 Winchester in 38-56.
8th: 1873 Winchester in 38-40.
9th: 1892 Winchester in 32 WCF.
10th: 1920 Winchester Model 52 in 22LR (ser no 1508).
11th on: all 42 others.

Love to go out with my Finnish Mosin M39 and blast some Bulgarian 148 light ball in copper washed cases. Big time fun for cheap. Also I like to take a box of Federal automatch 22 and either my 10" mkII or my 10/22 Charger. Most of my other range time is either .223 or .40.

Since you specified handgun I would say 38 Special out of my 4" GP100. I enjoy full power .357 as well but for plinking I prefer 38's, especially @ indoor ranges. 45 colt out of my 7.5" Vaquero is a close 2nd. As far as an all time favorite round the 22 long rifle would be my choice. Wish I had a pistol in that caliber.

.22lr

I enjoy blazing away at reactive targets with my 22/45 more than any other shooting I do. There's nothing like chasing a golf ball down to the 100M berm for simple enjoyment.

.22rf and .45ACP
If I just grab and go, I'm apt to be grabbing my little .22 S&W 317 and one of the 1911s or the G36. Lately, though, I've been grabbing a .50 cal ML target pistol and enjoying the leisurely pace of shooting that that requires.
