What dream gun would you like to see gunmakers build?

Jeff, you could do a bolt action bullpup easily if it was straight pull like the Blaser. You just move the cocking hanldle farther forward so that it would be up above the pistol grip. Then you would basically have an operating rod that traveled bact to the bolt.

opusxx, there is a German gun (I can't think of the name) that does something similar only it works more like a pump action, only you move the hand grip back and forth.

I'm with Nevada Fitch ... in .35 Whelen, but with Jeff, CA's low mount steel aperture sights.

FAL G series and FNC :)
But at affordable prices.

Thompson in 10MM. I know it was made, but only about 100 of them. That's not enough for Texas, let alone the whole USA.

A hopper-fed .22 - the ultimate plinker

Left handed 7.62x39 bolt action

Damn, it would make my day if back around 1900 the world's armies had decided to use left handed bolt actions.....then I could get a useful rifle for under $90 that I could actually USE.......

An all Synthetic Bolt action rifle chambered in 7.62X39.

With an action SIZED to the shortness of the 7.62X39, and 18 inch barrel.

3 shot magazine.

2.5 power scope.

Total weight 4 Pounds or less!

Well, since this is a "dream" gun question.... :D How about a bolt action, synthetic stock, stainless barrel and action, (here comes the kickers) 5 lbs w/ scope, 300 Win mag ballistics with .243 recoil, and capable of putting 10 rounds in .025" at 200 yards.
On ya, and cost is 300.00 including scope and other accessories.

Hey, who woke me up?????

5 1/2 lb 24" barreled bolt action PRODUCTION rifle fron one of the major manufacturers, at blue collar working-stiff price.

#2
6 lb falling-block single shot, also at regular production price. (Absolutly LOVE the Dakota Model 10, but have heart palpatations looking at the price tag  )

#3
Affordable (Seems to be a pattern developing here :) ) 5 shot .454 Casull single-action revolver.

#4
For Ruger to bring back the adjustable sight .32 H&R Single-Six

Well...I have a "couple"...

Mini-mauser w/ 19" bl and "Scout Scope" in .250 SAI.

Scaled-down FN-FAL in same caliber, or even just .250 Savage (.250/3000), with better sights.

Sturdy, bolt-action, 20" bl .45-70 with Scout Scope and peep sights. For 375$. Yeah, c'mon.

Similarly equipped 12 GA, with a good finish. For $350.

5-round .45 colt revolver built on a sturdy .357-size titanium frame, with 3.3" ported bl, and tritium sights.

Not so much to ask, eh? ;)

Have you taken a look at Gibbs converted Enfields?? Might be able to make it what you want.

Not sturdy enough.

While Navy Arms told me their bolt guns (should we ever see them) would "fire any bullets the lever guns can", Gibbs specifically says not to use high-pressure loads.

I'd like to see Winchester make a scout rifle on the Model 70 Classic action (cut for use with stripper clips), with a 20" Featherweight contour barrel, Ashley scout scope mount, gray synthetic stock, 3 flush-mounted sling swivels for a Ching sling, and a durable satin or matte metal finish. (Yes, I read a lot of Jeff Cooper.) And it should cost less than $700. Caliber .308 Win., of course.

I'd also like to see Marlin make a 336CS with factory ghost ring sights, no rear sight dovetail in the barrel, and a parkerized finish. While they're at it, they could reintroduce the 39M (preferably with ghost ring sights too).

Oh, almost forgot, I'd like to see Ruger make a decently accurate Mini-14 (standard, not Ranch) and reliable 10-round factory mags for it.

My Dream Gun is a M41A Pulse rifle.
10MM caseless, 99 round magazines, AP/HE rounds, over-under 30mm pump action grenade launcher.

And to go with it as a back up?
Dekkard's pistol from Blade Runner.

Jeff, Correia: About 50 years back, a fair number of varmint hunters built bullpups. They were real handy for hunting from a vehicle. Most of the resistance to them was due to the chamber being right next to the cheek/eye; if anything went wrong, Oops! I knew of a couple of Model 70s built up as BPs, but the stock work was strictly do-it-yourself--not an easy job.

Alfadog, Ruger made a limited run of 10-round magazines. They protrude only slightly below the stock, making the gun quite easy to carry. I found just one, and have kept it, even though I'm out of the Mini-14 bidness for the moment. :)

Ford had a heavily cut down Steyr target rifle. It was such a senseless waste....

If you pause the movie when he's fighting Roy in the appartment, you can see the bolt handle in many scenes.

I, would like to see Remington and Winchester bring back chamberings in .264 Win Mag, 6.5 Rem Mag, 6.5X55 Swedish, 7X57 Mauser...the classics.
