If Bush had'nt went into Iraq we would have no economy to worry about, because the war would be here.

I give Bush an F on spending, mainly social spending, 1.3 TRILLION last year, source-Newsday. I was wondering how all these illegal alians were living so well. America is turning into a halfway house for the world. Food stamp programs have doubled since Bush has been in office. Baby boomers have not even started to retire and collect health care.

The liberal media started this whole video circus just like the NYT and stupid wire tap storie or Dan Blather at CBS and their fake National guard fairy tale.

GHT, I liked your last line. If we could just learn and teach the Constitution to our kids, the future leaders. But every body has their opinion, and the constitution guards that right to discussion and redress. Like Hussien said today, stay united, don't fight each other. We'll either stand together, or hang together.

orig post by carbiner: If Bush had'nt went into Iraq we would have no economy to worry about, because the war would be here.
hadn't gone into Iraq..."W's" rubbin' off on ya!;)
I must have missed that threat. The Iraqi's were in the midst of invading America? Where'd you get that jewel, Fox?
No offense Carb but you're one of a handful still believing that nonsense.
The same crowd who believes Saddam launched 911, believes Bush is in total
control, Katrina was a Hillary plot and Santa Claus is the Easter Bunny.
I read somewhere on this board that this so called Iraq War was no different than WWII. Don't tell that to a WWII vet. :barf:

....and please enlighten me as to "Dah... bah.... ya's" benevilent social programs. Was that for military families, regular pofoke or the wealthiest 5% in the country?
...and yeah, these neocons aren't engaged in spying on Americans, or fabricating facts to scare us into war, or outing CIA agents, or selling off American assests, or looking the other way on illegals or cutting deals with questionable gov'ts., or eroding our rights under the Patriot Act.
The liberal news media made up all this stuff , huh!
Sounds like if we didn't have the darn media we'd be fine!

eroding our rights under the Patriot Act

You people kill me, liberal/democrats. "Eroding our rights under the Patriot Act" because it allows an overseas phone call to a terrorist country to be monitored, a proven detection system to protect our country and you consider it the downfall of our rights through the first amendment.
Even though the majority of the calls are made by non american citizens that should not have our rights to begin with.
When for the last 40 years you and your team has decimated the second amendment and our rights. Under the justifacation of a safer America and knowing whats best for us all, after all we're just stupid people we're not in your class.

The main reason I voted for Bush was his pro stance on the second amendment, and he didn't let me down or the millions of others who put him in office for that reason.

Its not worth debating a subject with people who refuse to agree when they are proven wrong, and who will degrade, or completely ignore anything you say that doesn't completely agree with thier view of things. Who would rather make silly or 'cute' little statements bashing eveyone else, instead of honestly debating an issue with pesky things like FACTS. It is juvenile, counterproductive, and just plain stupid. Their only purpose in this thread is to bash the president at every turn. They have no respect, acting in this manner, and don't deserve respect in return. If they grow up and decide to have a "grown folk" discussion.........

I could ask you the same rimrock, where do you et your news? The media has been on a hate campaign against bush since day one, and the people who can't form their own opinion need to run to that same media everyday and be told how and what to think. Five years of look how bad bush is, and then they take a poll to see how it sunk in, I see it's effective. That is my thought, and no I do not need fox to tell me what to think.

Today our military is beating the tar out of more Islomofacists, terrorists. They will now have to scrap up more resources, money, man power(in their case children) and weapons to keep the Islamic hate machine alive in Iraq. These are all resources they could have redirected to America, and would be right now if they could.

I see the white flag media is at it today: Where violating international law, or, We thought major combat was over. The liberals are weeping in harmony again. They can't see past their own selfish marxist ideologies. America, please throw those newspapers in the trash!

That snot nosed punk running Iran is next! Wipe America and Israel out ha? Looks like he's gonna have the military kicking their feet on his furniture pretty soon too!

I love our men and women in uniform, they are a force that that crushes hate, oppression, and they have shown the terror hate machine the bitter taste defeat! We have a long way to go, and I know we can still get hit in this greatest county.

At least we have a president with the courage to finally face and fight this evil once for all.

But I'll side with with our military each and every time to the end! It's time America channels it's energy to our military and AGAINST the media!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must have missed that threat. The Iraqi's were in the midst of invading America? Where'd you get that jewel, Fox?
You missed the point. The Islamofascist wackos are in a frenzy to kick infidels out of Iraq - that keeps them busy in Iraq rather than roaming the world looking for terrorist targets.

...and yeah, these neocons aren't engaged in spying on Americans, or fabricating facts to scare us into war, or outing CIA agents, or selling off American assests, or looking the other way on illegals or cutting deals with questionable gov'ts., or eroding our rights under the Patriot Act.
Neocons? PATRIOT Act? The renewal of the PATRIOT Act was approved by 280 House members and 89 Senators, which leads to the amazing conclusion that there are a LOT of neocon Democrats!

PATRIOT Act Renewal
The approval in the House of Representatives, by a vote of 280-138, sent the measure to President Bush for his signature.

The Senate last week voted 89-10 to approve the compromise package, which covers 16 provisions in the act that are set to expire on March 10.

Sloganeering may be fun, but debate works better with facts.

gc70,
Did you really want the so called Patriot Act as originally proposed by the neocons. Why is it called the Patriot Act? Wouldn't "The Restricted Freedoms Act" be more appropriate? How would you react if next time they want to tweak it to include restrictions on reloading powder, shell count and even firearms. The only folks between you and them then will be the DEMS:eek:
Don't think so...it's a slippery slope! Stranger things in the name of Patriotism!
I believe as do many others that the envasion of Iraq is regretable and serves as a custom made recruitment to amalgamate the different radical factions against one common enemy ...US!
We can't cure everything with firepower! Isn't that what Ike warned against?
This thing started out with an objective to topple a nasty SOB dictator and look what has developed.
Whether on defense or offense ...Success tends to favor the educated and the prepared!

Sloganeering may be fun, but debate works better with facts.
That depends on the objective ....heretofore mine's been curiosity, fascination with human behavior, and to a lesser degree entertainment.
Has there ever been a single mind change by "my dad can whip your dad" on the internet. It's mostly opinion and tweaked facts in reaffirm our own views. It makes us all cozy and fuzzy! Unfortunately it has little to do with reality in the trenches!
Besides, if any of us had the answers to the present day dilemma I doubt if we'd be offering it here for free!

Rimrock,

An occasional slogan is effective in taunting a response :D but responses consisting entirely of slogans add little or nothing to the cumulative knowledge that debate builds.

Did you really want the so called Patriot Act as originally proposed by the neocons.
Our distaste for the PATRIOT Act is just opinion. Painting the Act as an evil deed of the far right is an understandible, if inaccurate, way to express frustration. The fact is that the Act was adopted (and renewed) by overwhelming numbers of statists of both parties in Congress.

This thing started out with an objective to topple a nasty SOB dictator and look what has developed.
Why we invaded Iraq is a matter of conjecture and whether we should stay there is a matter of opinion. But it is a fact that the war in Iraq is a magnet for Islamofascists and keeping them busy in Iraq reduces the mischief they can cause elsewhere.

Well, gc70 has said it best, but heres my .02 worth .

The only folks between you and them will be the DEMS? First off, there is no us and them or you and them. That attitude causes half these problems to begin with. We are ALL in this TOGETHER, DEM, REP, AVERAGE JOE....all of us together. The US vs THEM attitude needs to die. Secondly, those DEMS that would stand between....are they the same ones that voted FOR the act?

And the reason we went into Iraq with forever be debatable. Peolple like you will ALWAYS believe, no matter what that the war was over OIL. Never mind the facts, or others opinions. To you it was a greedy president after OIL. Never mind the fact that its been proven that he helped fund the terrorists, or that he decided to deny weapons inspections that he was already bound to allow. Hmmm, this dangerous madman, who it has been PROVEN has used chemical and biological weapons in the past, on HIS OWN PEOPLE, suddenly refuses to let anyone see if he is still secretly making them. That stuff doesn't matter to you, only your hatred over your political agenda drives you. Does it not seem the least bit fanciful to you that the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, would send men and women to DIE just to get more OIL!? Thats what your whole beef is about!? Doesn't that even seem SLIGHTLY ludicrous to you? Probably not. Doesn't seem logic or common sense have a place here.....

This whole capt video thing is silly, just another failed attempt by the media to distort fact. It's dead already.

The NYT did this with the wire tap story, they even waited a whole year.

gc70,
Thanks for all the personal attention but W was the subject. However, it's nice to know I'm "gittin" over!
Surely there's more pressing issues today than my style, which by the way has been pretty darn good for me over the years.:D
Peolple like you will ALWAYS believe, no matter what that the war was over OIL.
Consider some of the problem is related to that very statement of "people like you ALWAYS" Actually it would have made more sense if it were ONLY for oil.

Haven't we had several "justifications" for this WAR.
Saddams's a mean guy and those folks deserve rescuing.
He had WMD's
Let's fight 'em there or we'll fight 'em" here!
Those folks deserve our brand of democracy and (CAPITALISM?)
A higher "Father" told me to do it
Because the terrorist are NOW there!
Insurgents are bad folks and need to die.
...and not stated but heavily implied Iraq was responsible for 911
If we apply these motivations to every wide spot in the World's road we'd be
become the "all war all the time" country!
Of all the places on this planet that needed our "special attention" was Iraq rightfully at the top of the list? Tell that to the thousands per day dying in Africa. They call it genocide!
Hardly!

Yeah it is silly. Those darn media outlets use all those trick photography methods to make him look stupid and detached. God they're good at it!

It's just like every other holocaust the liberal media tries to pin on Bush. They look like fools running around trying to nail jello to a wall.
Like it or not America is not buying it. It's high time for those folks to get to work. I see all these volunteers from college students to christian churches helping. Where are all these people who lived there. Crying about Bush on CNN over a video tape won't get any houses built. Hurricane season coming up again!
And their still dwelling on something Bush said last year.
Bush is hardly to blame for Katrinas aftermath.

So is Bush a maniacal evil genius? or is he a bumbling idiot? Rimmer's got me all confused
:D He's a maniacal evil genius who looks like a bumbling idiot - sorta' like the political offspring of Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

Hey BigR, Sorry for any confusion here. The justifications were in quotes as in so called justifications. It may have lost something in the translation.
I think there's a rule in the English Language which states something to the effect that it's considered improper to use Bush and genius in the same sentence unless it's preceded by "isn't" or "no"
Hope that clears it up.

gc70, now that's more like it....funny!:D

carbiner,

As one who still maintains strong connections with the coast what my friends say is that the regular people have been working night and day to normalize their lives. There is a huge construction industry, hiring tens of thousands of people on sites from NW Florida to Texas. Instead of a bust there is a building boom gong on. The area is comparible to the outskirts of Brasilia in the 60's and 70's with whole towns springing up.

I know people who weren't able to get a job for the entire Clinton Bubble who are now working and doing well. One thing which really irks the DU droogies and popular media is that people on the coast don't have to have a union card to get a job. So the unions and big labor like to pretend there is nothing happening except a bunch of starving refugees hanging around their campfires. That perception is total BS.

On the other hand there is the parasite class. Admittedly a lot of them have been left behind, but only because they have forgotten they have opposible thumbs. I know several folks who've hired 'local talent' for their building projects. The workers who will at least pretend to work and are minimally trainable do well and the rest are asked to not return the next day.

Rimrock, leave it to you to respond to ONE SENTENCE out of my entire post #131, with a few tired one-liners. Forget addressing the issue, or answering the questions with the slightest semblance of intelligence. Just bash the president some more with your witty (only to you) comments. Smoke and mirrors, the old shell game.....this behavior just proves once again that you are incapable of honest debate, and devoid of reason or logic....

Maybe you should try posting on a bad comedians forum....obviously political debate isn't your strong suit....

Thanks for the attempt at the personal slam, D_T! Nice to know I'm gittin' over!;) I guess I didn't realize that debate was essential and required here. My bad! I know how hard it must be watchin' the pride and joy of neoconism derail so pathetically and publicly. Just don't feel like laughin' much when things are so sideways for the ruling class huh? Hey, in three long years it'll be over for the most part.....sort of.

Actually sometime we should compare total revenues derived from real debate in the world's real trenches......as opposed to your internet world. :D As they say..."the proof's in the pudding!";)
Life's been good to me!:)
Now if you'll excuse me I gotta light one of those "big Bob Marley" expolding cigars!:D
