"Truck Gun"

I would vote for a CZ 52. Great ballistics, and can be had for cheap. Plus, as someone else has mentioned, a gangbanger isn't likely to come across ammo if it's stolen. FWIW, I also think it looks cool.

It depends on what I'm doing.

Normally, there's a snub .38 in my pocket and a .44 Ruger SBH under the seat. Which reminds me. The boys and I went shooting last week. Did I recharge the SBH?

? For Doc 540

Doc,
Not to be an ignoramous, but just what are it? I know that I know what it is, it's just not computing at this time.
why the electrical tape on the grips?
She do look like she is up to the task though:D!

Sincerely,

Willy

mine's an 8" barrel Contender 44 Hot Shot barrel cutom set up to shoot 444 marlin shot cases, ( with the screw on choke tube ) & mild 444 marlin or 44 Mag handloads with the choke tube screwed off...

my builder is just finishing it up maybe this week... once done, it'll wear a laser & a tac light, & easily fit in my arm rest...

Don't worry. I don't know what one was two months ago myself.

It's a FEG PA-63, Hungarian police pistol (Walther PP copy) that sells for around $200 or less. Caliber is 9x18 Makarov, Silver Bear 94 grain HP's.

Once you change the recoil and hammer springs with easy-to-find Wolff springs, it's a good little shooter.

The tape is Rawlings Bat Grip and thickens the grip for my boney fingers and absorbs a lot of recoil from the snappy little blowback design.

(MidwayUSA sells a flat panel for the left side grip which helps control grip and recoil.)

Hope this helps.

My first handgun, a Taurus 85, rides in my glove box along with a speedloader ... It's not a gun I carry, so when I leave the car the gun gets locked, the glovebox gets locked and the car gets locked ... I like having it as a spare, and also for the wife to use if we get in a situation where a little help might be nice ...

AK 47. with three 30 round mags. I'm a firm believer in the old saying that the only thing a handgun is good for is fighting your way back to a real firearm.

Handgun: Dan Wesson 4"357, rifle: Norinco sks. Pretty well armed for most instances, I'd say. Always well armed when riding/driving.

My old 4x4 has a Taurus 650 hidden below a dash panel that looks like it is screwed down but isn't. My old Bug has a fairly thick steel strap that can be unbolted from under the dash so any OWB, beltslide, or pancake holster can be mounted within reach but completely hidden under the dash. Right now it has a Walther P-1, but used to have a 2 1/2" S&W Model 66.

I think that stainless is a better choice if you don't plan on ever looking at it to see if it is rusted or clean or whatever.

HIDE THE DAMN THING!

BIIIIGGG SHOCKING STORY: "Someone broke into my my house and somehow they new I hid my money in the top sock drawer of my dresser, and I'll be danged if I can figure out how they found my 2 guns. One was under the bed, and the other was in the corner of the closet right behind my t-shirt." Crooks aren't all stipid. If I turned crook and broke into a car looking for a gun, I'd look under and around the seats, in the door pockets, the pockets behind the backs of the seats, in the glove box, and in the console. I bet 95% of people that have a gun in their car or truck have it in one of those spots.

HIDE IT WELL, & IT WON'T GET SOLEN! Put it within reach under the dash or somewhere else. I've had a couple of cars I thought about removing the passenger airbag and mounting a holster of some kind in its place behind the hinged panel.

If you are really worried about it being there and getting stolen, here is something to think about. A coworker just had all but his favorite hunting rifle and his .22 stolen out of his house. The other 2 guns were in his old 4x4 truck which wasn't locked and was in the driveway right in front of his house.

My long-winded $.02, hide it really well or lock it up in a strong steel box.

prof young impromptu hunting

Yea I understand...I work in remote areas often however as I said in my post we have had a lot o poaching issues. This means that anyone with anything more than a handgun in the car is suspect.

I have been stopped on the dirt road after going to the outdoor range and being asked to see what was in my gun case. I had my savage 22 in it and my handgun in my holster.

No disrespect meant at all
