This is bad...

What everyone else is saying is, sadly, true. I bought my first handgun (a Beretta Cougar in .40) probably only about 4 years ago. I got a great deal, the likes of which I haven't seen since. Sadly, I no longer have that pistol, but have since purchased in all 9 bang devices. Couple of handguns, a twelve gauge, and two rifles. Then the ammo. Then the holsters. Then whatever accessories you can scrape up the cash for because you think one day you might "need" it. I gave my brother an old .38 just to see if I could actually get him bitten without letting him know what my intentions were. He bought 5 firearms in 6 months.

Good luck. You'll never not be thinking about firearms for the rest of your life.

I was diagnosed in march of 2011 and have yet to find a cure myself. You will likely buy many guns, sell many guns and get 8 holsters for each one. You will likely upset the wife a few times.

My wife does not understand the illness, she is immune I think. I'm working on saving up for another treatment. I need a smaller CCW firearm for when I have to wear a tucked in shirt and khakis. My Glock 22 is hard to conceal without a shirt or jacket draping over it.

Good luck with your gun collection but in all seriousness, don't let it consume you. It easily can.

All I can say is.............don't buy a hot rod if this kind of addiction has you or your significant other worried............:D

Hi, I'm Nordeste, and I'm also a gunaholic :D.

Have you tried rifles yet?

You'll always find good advice here. A "friend" (he actually is, just kidding) let me shoot his .22 CZ carbine some time back. Needless to say, I want one.

I'm doomed.

I spent a LOT of time thinking and researching before I bought my first gun. I wanted to make sure it would be a good choice for virtually any application I might need and I was extremely concerned about long term durability.

The second purchase was a lot easier and faster...

That's EXACTLY what happened to me. Wanted a gun that would fit into the multi-purpose category. Fit for CCW and for range use. The Beretta PX4 was the closest answer. Great pistol, but ended up selling her. Needed something heavier for the range, and something smaller for carry. The next purchase was quite easier, Star 30M for the range, and I'm planning on a G19 for carry.

OP, don't worry, your symptoms are normal and widespread here. You'll find advice and support here.

Edit: Read the 1911 thing. I couldn't agree more. I had, just once, the chance to shoot one, a Kimber .45, and was so excited that had to open a thread here relating my experience, which I guess caused a few grins. Now that I'll get into reloading, I also want a 1911, and of course, I want it in .45. Don't let that bug bite you, or... what the heck, let it be!. We have just one life :p!.

What have I gotten myself into?

Its worse than crack cocaine!
Like the crack heads state, 1 hit is too many and 1,000 ain't enough:mad:
The same with guns you will never have enough,
You may want to check out www.berettausa.com they have 22lr kits for the 92. A bit pricey at $369 MSRP BUT they work. I have 2 kits and both are trouble free. I would avoid any other after market kits 22lr kits for the 92.
Check around at the dealers to see what they could get the 22 lr kits for.

Bought my first gun one year ago. I have ten now. Figured I'd stop buying any more this year and just practice shooting with the three revolvers, one shotgun, one AR, three auto pistols, one sub 2k, and one 22lr rifle. Got them all for different reasons, different calibers and was able to justify all of them to the ole lady - that is, until I bought my last one on credit!

So now I'm just wishing a big chunk of money falls into my lap after all the bills are paid...anybody got a Ruger SR1911 or a Colt Delta Elite 10mm they want to get rid of?:D

Welcome to the club!

Way to go NOVA! Be sure to get yourself the SR1911 when you get a chance!

P.S. If you can, send me a PM and let me know how your Sub 2000 is working out for ya.

Be advised, the BEST deals, be they from friends, gun shops or at gun shows, only appear when you are FLAT BROKE. If you have a thousand or so tucked aside, or in your pocket... no real deal will be found. Nothing. EVER. The prices will ALWAYS be higher when you have money.

Ain't it the truth.

These guys are all wrong. There is a cure. Pack them up securely and send them to....................... My FFL will take care of the transfers!!;)

I've become addicted, too! Three guns in three months. CWP applied for, and several models still on my wish list. Guess this is my mid life crisis!!!

The most dangerous part of the gun acquisition disease is what I call caliber mania.

Once you have the basics covered, instead of more of the same, you'll want some different calibers. And if you're like most gun nuts, you're going to want to build up a stockpile of ammo for each. Plinking rounds, hunting rounds, defense rounds, sniper rounds, etc. Then different calibers of the same model gun or the major icons of a certain caliber to complete your collection. It gets ugly.

Sawman, what I tell myself is this is cheaper than sportscars or motorcycles and safer than chasing waitresses.
