The Walmart Ammo thread

I check just about every other day... Got a ton of 22 bulk boxes on the shelf, a ton of 9mm, even scored 357, .38 and two boxes of .380! What really makes me mad is that we got no .45 at all! I hope this changes soon... I've got a new 1911 that will be arriving in a few weeks and I need the ammo...

Ill admit, it is getting better...

Wal Mart , Punta Gorda Fl

Stopped in last Friday and they had six 250 rnd bulk boxes of UMC 45 Auto priced at $86 per pack. Theoretically I could have bought all 6 boxes, if I could afford it..LOL

I actually scored a box of 100 Remington 357 Mag JHP at Wally World today. Last week I found a couple boxes of WWB in .38 spl.

I am on a first name basis with my Walmart Ammo guy, Steve. He always tries to keep a little back for me, and being nice to this guy has allowed me some serious range time, compared to friends of mine, who cannot afford the same ammo at twice the price at the gun store. The Winchester white box shoots good, and allows me to keep practicing and keep sharp. :D

Yeah, thats just what this thread needed. Don't even get me started about which direction I'd like to tell your friend to go.

My local DFW Wally World has some rifle ammo for hunting season but the price is up from before the election. Some ammo is about doubled. I think they have kept prices down overall.

The vero beach, fl walmart has done ok with ammo. 223 and 308 are always stocked, and usually a few handgun calibres- .40 is always fully stocked

Temple, Tx.
Walmart has tons of 9mm, and .40 S&W that has been on the shelf for over 3 days. .45 ACP comes in every morning, and is still selling out before noon. .380 suposedly comes in at least once a week (I have as of yet to see that happen.)
Academy has mucho .40, 9mm, .38, ,357 mag, and 44 mag. various brands of all. 38 and 357 are monarch. They have 2 100 round boxes of Remington .45 ACP (did have 4, I bought 2 for range fodder tomorrow.) Several UMC 250 round value boxes of 9mm, and .40 S&W. Lots of WWB in everything but .45 ACP.

My nearest Walmart (Richmond, VA) had on Labor Day the first .45 Win value packs I've seen there in 6ish months and the first .380 value packs I've seen this year. It took me 35 minutes from first requesting help at sporting goods to complete my purchase. The manager with allegedly the only key to the handgun side of the ammo case had taken it home. The attending manager was dexterous enough to retrieve 6 boxes with the knob of a little league bat from the other side. The slight (~$2.00) price increase on all value packs was effected at about the same time.

I stopped in Walmart yesterday and they had plenty of .45ACP in the value packs, however the price is now $34.97. I bought some there a week ago for $29.97. They were out of 9mm, so not sure if there was a price increase on that.

Does anyone here go to walmart for expert advise on guns or ammo....???
Absolutly not!!! We all go there because we think we might find what we want at a cheaper price... that's it.... nothing else!
I can't believe anyone would go to walmart expecting expert advice on anything they sell..!!!!!! If they had experts in every dept... prices would be higher... somebody has to pay those experts!!
I can't understand how this thread even got started...
Expert advice at walmart... what a joke...!

OM Goodness! I saw THREE 100 round Winchester Valuepacks of .380 ACP at Walmart! Yes THREE of 'em!

No I didn't buy any. I have 200 rounds of FMJ still here from about a year and a half. Yes I have a few .380s, but I pack Glocks and Smith J frames.

Hope some good people get a box of them and not the scalpers.

My local WM has a 2 box restriction per customer. Some clerks allow me to grab 2 boxes of several types of ammo (Im a big fan of the .22WMR Dynapoints they carry and their .22 bulk packs); other clerks hold fast to the 2 box maximum, period!
After reading about profit hoarders here, makes me realize why they need to do it, still drives me crazy though to see 10 bulk packs of Federal Auto-match on the shelf and I can only buy 2, lol.

Wow. Picked up a Winchester Value pack of .38 Specials! Yep, 100 round count. All those .380s are gone in just one day (and I didn't get any.)
