The ONLY Pro-firearms Presidential Candidate for 2008!

Bill Richardson is in the race and has an A rating from the NRA.

Paul has no chance. In fact, he is not the most effective congress person. Granted that he gets gun lists all excited but it's meaningless.

There are too many issues that I disagree with on Ron Paul for him to get my vote. Although he is a staunch supporter of 2A, I don't think he can sell ice cubes to eskimos. One thing on the little research I've done, at least you know where he stands (so far).

Glan, do you really think he stands a chance? He is hispanic, so I think this will have a huge affect on the votes.

People certianly won't vote for hillary, as for Barak, well, hopefully he wont turn into the "lesser or two evils" vote, or everyone is screwed.

A strong showing for Richardson, or even a VP slot does the RBKA a world of good in my opinion. It would move the issue out of the realm of just being a cause of right wing nut balls. He argues the issue is for main stream Americans.

I think the future of the issue is to move it to the middle and not be the province of the extreme right and tin foil hat shall we fight internet commandos. Cranky today but that's how I see it.

This should have been titled "The ONLY PRO FREEDOM PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR 2008"

Many candidates or potential candidates are pro gun (or at least say they are until they get into office..a la former governor Bill Owens of Colorado)

However there is more to freedom than the right to keep and bear arms. Most of these "pro gun" candidates will trample other rights. Almost none of them will doing anything close to honoring the Bill of Rights. Do we want someone like that in office? I hope not.

Dr. Ron Paul is PRO FREEDOM not just pro gun. He will honor the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, something no other candidate will do. The Constitution is not limited to the Second Amendment. Please remember that.

Don't let fear of Hillary Clinton getting elected keep you from voting for freedom. Don't let fear of Hillary Clinton getting elected make you do something stupid like vote for "the lesser of two evils". To do so will just get us more evil.

Take a stand for FREEDOM not FEAR! If you love freedom..not just guns...write Ron Paul into your ballot if you must..or vote third party..something....but DON'T SUPPORT THE STATUS QUO! Don't enable the tyrants.

Paul has no chance. In fact, he is not the most effective congress person. Granted that he gets gun lists all excited but it's meaningless.

Forgive me, but if....

Paul is the new Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology. Who regularly meets with the Federal Reserve I would hardly call that being ineffective.

I am not excited about Ron Paul Because of His pro gun views but about his support for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

what standard do you use to rate him as being ineffective ?

As for Richardson I see nothing in his portfolio that excites me. What exactly is he bringing to the table as a democrat that the American people want?

When Bill Clinton when he first announced his candidacy wasn't given much of a chance either. The Governor of Arkansas give me a break.....lol.

Bill Richardson on the issues:

Our next President must be able to get us out of Iraq --

Our next President must be able to restore our standing in the world and I believe I'm the best candidate to do that as well.

Our next President must be able to bring a country together that is divided and partisan

Our next President must be able to start reversing Global Warming and making real progress on energy independence

Our next President must be able to make our economy work for the middle class and start creating good paying jobs again

We must work to provide health insurance and access to quality, affordable health care, for all Americans and frankly we'd save a lot of money by doing it

also believe we must pass comprehensive immigration reform to help secure our borders, protect our workers and our economy

so what exactly is he promising that the others are not? Tell me again why I should be excited about him?

Rep Paul has my vote

I intend to change my registration to Republican in order to vote for Rep. Paul in the primaries. If he does not get the nomination, which is unfortunately the likely outcome, then I will go back to independent and probably vote for the Constitution Party candidate for President. To find out his views, go to www.house.gov, select the website for Ron Paul, and read his weekly columns. They are fairly succinct and informative, and address a wide variety of issues. I have been aware of Rep. Paul for years. He is a retired obstetrician/gynecologist. He actually stands up for his beliefs. He is in some respects a lone voice in the wilderness of congress, yet he has been reelected many times. I think that if we keep voting for the "moderate," or socialist-leaning, Republicans, then the Republican party will keep shifting further to the left. The only way that party can be reformed is if voters start shifting toward the third party candidates or the longshot Republicans like Ron Paul. If mainstream Republicans who lean to the left start losing votes to constitutionalists, then mainstream Republicans will have to shift back toward honoring the constitution in order to recapture those votes. As it is, the only real difference between Republicans and Democrats seems to be in national defense. Maybe there is not really that much difference there, as the Democrats are not really pushing anything different now that they have more power. In any case, both parties are unrelenting in their push for big government, with Democrats just pushing it faster. If we want change, then that so-called "wasted vote" for the longshot constitutionalist is really a vote to shift the debate. Eventually enough losses for big government Republicanism will force a return to a conservative platform, to avoid continued losses. As far as Ron Paul's ideas leaving us behind in the modern world, nothing could be further from the truth. With a burgeoning welfare state, and $72 trillion in unfunded liabilities as a result, a cutting down of those welfare programs would send us skyrocketing ahead of the rest of the world economically.

A glimmer of hope

Hey, I'm a libertarian..I usually don't like politicians. I like this guy...I don't agree with everything he stands for...but at least he's not a. a liar, b.a waffle.
I didn't even know about him until I read this thread...thanks guys!
I hope this doesn't turn into a Ross Perot deal....that was another good guy that got shot down, imho.

"if a man says 2+2=5 he's wrong...if a man says 2+2=136 he's probably right..he's just not using the same logic you're using."

"Join the real world boys and girls, we will need elect the lesser of two evils"

If the front runners in both parties get nominated (Dem Hillary or Obama, Rep McCain or Giuliani) for the first time I can remember there will be NO LESSER OF TWO EVILS:eek:

My view of Paul is that you rarely see him in the great national debates. Also, an NRA lobbyist told me that while gun folks get all excited about him, the rest of Congress regard him as marginal. Senority gets him committee chairs - doesn't mean others listen to him.

Like I said, you can get all excited - he's going nowhere. That's typical of the gun world - the righteous but useless last stand mentality.

Well I see those who are engaged in the great national debates and they don't impress me either. he possibly gets low effectiveness ratings because he tells the political wonks, lobbyists and the really fat cats no. Not to mention the fact that while those in the great debate voted to position themselves for the future, Rep. Paul was one of the few to say no to the Patriot Act and the Iraqi War Resolution. The others voted yes and whined later. Maybe its time to elect a fellow who doesn't go along to get along?

If some of those engaged in the national debate and politics had learned to say no instead of performing political posturing we might not be in situations we are having to deal with today.

If Ron Paul is on the primary ballot here in NH, then he's got my vote. I don't see what I'd have to lose by voting for him instead of a "lesser of two evils" canidate like McCain. Worst case scenario is that Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination and I have to vote for one of "lesser of two evil" canidates in the general election.

The liars and thieves in DC holding Ron Paul in low reguard, well surprise surprise. Counting him out before the start is pretty common any more. Too many people suck from the govt. trought to take andyone like Paul seriously. They would loose their gravy train.
