Bandit:
You get over the appeal part, real quick, when you can't hit the broad side of a barn, at more then 10 paces, without making the gun a felony. Course it already is in Barb Boxer, and Diane F..land.

Still, they are fun...

I am new to this board, in fact I just registered today. I have a MPA 30 with the 10" barrel. I believe it is well made. I bought it for a "fun gun" to shoot with friends. We don't go to a so call range here in Colorado as there are several places to shoot on public land. The MPA 30 works well in that situation. I agree that it is not a hunting gun, a military weapon or even a personal defense gun (unless the shat hits the fan and we are fighting in the streets). I guess at my advanced age, it makes me feel young and its worth the price just for doing that. Kind of like the old guy that buys a Viper just because he can.

This is America

If you like something and think it's cool, it's your perogative. I don't think this guy deserved 6 pages of ridicule for liking what he likes. As for his first post, saying that you have to be man enough to even see this gun, it worked because everyone did look. If your manhood was challenged by his statement, then something must be wrong with you. Little things like that should not instill anger in responsible gun owners, lest we get int a firefight over whose team won the Super Bowl. The proper term for a magazine is a magazine. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't know what a clip is when someone who's not as strict as some of us uses it to mean a mag. I know what a stripper clip is also, and dont get confused if the two terms are used in context. I am the proud owner of an Uzi pistol, which this gun reminds me of. I bought it a long time ago when it was first offered to civilians. And let me tell you it is extremely accurate for the really short barrel that it has. They are completely different pistols that look similar but I think that they were bought for the same reasons, ie: sporting purposes and cool looks. All this said, I feel that we should all take things easier, go to the range and let loose a few boxes of ammo from our favorite piece.:D

Te Anau isn't being ridiculed. The gun is. That is clear throughout the thread.

I haven't seen anything where Te Anau has taken any of this personally and that is because it hasn't been directed at him personally. In fact, he seems to be having quite a good time with the thread. He does seem to show some unnatural relationship with the MPA platform, but no more so than 1911, Glock, Sig, or Kel Tec zealots.

one man's trash...

obsolete, yes... bulky, inaccurate, less than powerful, and many other disadvantages can be attributed to this weapon... however, its cost and reliability do give it a place in my safe... bought one for my wife 'cause she thought it looked "cool", and i expected the performance of tech-9 for the price i paid. well, i gotta tell you... its akin to a little 9mm AK! it cycles surplus mil, win, umc, crap reloads, and even cor-bon(don't try those @home, kids, i'm not sure of the mfgs stress rating for +p's) like it doesn't even know how to jam! also, the simplistic design lends to easy maintenance and field care without a gunsmithing toolbox. this weapon's best quality, in my opinion, is it's center of balance... this is no small-game hunting pistol, it was designed for military and private security use as a concealable sub-gun and anyone who expects anything more than "extension of the arm" type aiming with it is just an idiot. i do believe that in this semi-auto, closed bolt configuration it could prove quite useful as a "left hand" gun in a light self-support role in the CQB or urban security details where an individual could lay down a barrage of loosely placed cover fire with the mini-mac in one hand while placing an aimed shot from the primary duty pistol in the other hand on the actual target or threat. this is my first visit to your forum, so don't get me wrong people...i was just defending my wife's birthday present, not that 15 year old macho Rambo MAC-Sniper dork. hehe.

I used to have REAL macs for home protection. Doesn't sound like they worked as well as this new one, but, with another bolt, they easily went full auto, tore down easily, and, using 7000 grains of 45 in less then 2 seconds, I always wondered how it would work as a bear defense weapon, with ball ammo. Made a good woods carry gun, while the Santa Cruz serial murder guy was in the woods...

Considering our current legal climate, I could see using it for home defense, then being crucified by the media, and a DA.

It would, with a suppressor, be what it was made to be, an excellent offensive weapon for clearing rooms. Semi auto, it looses a LOT of it's benefits.

If I had a choice, I'd sure be betting on one burst stops, over one shot stops, anytime...

And by the way,I own the super bad MPA-10T which is the full size .45acp
Its rear site only has the top peep at the rear.Works better than you would guess.

Do you work for the company? Each to their own I always say. I personally think it's a horrible looking little gun that got made in your basement. I see those c-clips on my old '52 Ford, and the sights - well now?? I can't see through the glasses I have on let alone those sights.

I'll stick to the more traditional side arms thanks.

A complete joke of a gun. I am starting to wonder if all the new posters coming out of the woodwork touting this gun aren't the same poster. This is definetly a weapon for the "wanna be gangsta crowd".

I personally have no use for an MPA Defender but being an American gun owner I figure if it makes someone happy why not buy two, they`re small. Funny how we blast the libs for classifying (demonizing?) firearms by their looks and magazine capacities, reminding them that a "sporting purpose" has not one thing to do with the right to keep and bear arms. Then some gun owners do the very same thing. If Hillary and friends (fiends?) read this forum they`d be mighty proud of ya. Marcus

Web site is analogous to strapping a deer to the hood of your car to show your support of hunting. It is the millions of Americans who are on the fence that we must appeal to for further support. If this many self avowed gun lovers, including me, are put off by Masterpiece Arms, imagine how it would play to those who are currently undecided about gun control. It is a sad reality that we, as well as many others, have had to fight to preserve their individual rights.

It is important to remember that constitutional powers are exercised and that constitutional rights are enforced. Where do you turn when it is the government, with majority support, infringing on your rights? Often we look to the courts to protect our individual liberties from governmental intrusion. How well has that worked in the past in regards to so-called gun control legislation? So far, the only court provided for in the Constitution has been able to nimbly avoid directly ruling on the issue regarding an individual right to bear arms. Also don't forget how we got the federal "Assault Weapon" legislation in the first place and how much better it is since it sunset out of existence. Too bad all legislation doesn't have a sunset provision.

Regardless, the point is not who is correct in their interpretation of the Second Amendment, but who appeals to the majority of Americans and can thereby influence the course of legislation. With the number of States that have some form of "shall issue" concealed carry laws, we are enjoying relatively good times. Let's hope the tide does not turn against us.

wow, i was just about to put on the ol flame suit and say these things looked pretty cool and i'd consider one. but then i watched the video off the website.... words can not discribe. just watch it and you'll understand.

anybody know anything about that carbine on the site? i know its really lame, but it has a drum and drums cloud my judgement.

seriously. a hummer in the video? did you see how much that gun flailed around? no human could keep a sight picture in that lil red dot. it was completely useless. the guy was trying to play an action hero and he looked like a 35 year old man who still doesnt know he doesnt play highschool football anymore. and the blowing the gun off and saying "yeah"... insert "i'm compensating phrase here"
