The handgun you were most DISAPPOINTED in?

Walther PPK/S. It was my first real gun, after a brief mess with a .25 Raven, and I bought into the James Bond garbage. His hands must have been TINY. The nasty little gun bit me every time I took it to the range. It even bit me bad enough that it occasionally had failure to feed problem. It is the one gun that I am not sorry to have gotten rid of.

Ruger Secutity Six......Wouldn't fire on double action without hanging. Ruger Blackhawk, wouldn't even turn the spare 45acp cylinder, thanks Bill but no more for me.

Ruger !!! Kind of liked the 22 45 but my brother in law fell in the creek with it and really messed up the grip. Tryed three differnt blackhawks then bought a S&W M29. Still wished Kent had'nt shown me that AR!!!

I bought an Eastern European pistol a few years ago. It fired a 9x18 and all I could find at the time was military surplus fmj ammo. The gun was good accept for an extremely heavy trigger pull. But I once shot a 45 pound pit bull mix with it. I hit the dog twice but it ran away. I felt terrible about a dog dying slowly in the woods until it showed up on my porch a few days later perfectly healthy except for tiny little holes in it. If I can't kill a small dog with it I sure don't wan't to depend on it for self defense.

I'll never own another 9x18. Too skinny, too slow and poor availability of self defense ammo.

Sig P220 supermatch

My worst buy was a brand new Sig p220 supermatch SAO, Horrible fitting grips ie not finished well and the seam up the back was 2 different thicknesses, Horrible trigger ie clean break at 8.4lbs, Safety fitment was poor ie would only engage/disengage smoothly from the left side not the right. Sig customer service said the everything was normal and would not be repaired under warranty. Therefore I will NEVER buy another sig in my life. I'm even hesitant to buy a p210.

Ruger MKIII ---- The the was more than a PITA to disassemble. Once I got it too I realized I wanted something bigger. It was a present for my 14 Birthday from my father. Upgraded to a 45 shortly after that(Sig P220 1st). I hate that gun but loved the catridge. Then I found my baby, S&W 1911, or any 1911 for that matter. Fits me like a glove.:)

Sig P238

Too many problems to be a carry on the 238, however, when it shot, it was accurate for me, even the first 50 rounds. There wasn't a lot of grip to it but somehow it still worked out, when it fired.

Surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but I see this is an old thread. After reviewing the list I have to admit the Mosquito was a bit disappointing. I haven't had many issues provided I keep it clean and shoot decent ammo. I just naively thought I could learn things more cheaply on the Mosquito and it would transfer to my 226. NOT. The grip is too small. Feels like I'm shooting a fake gun. I keep it around so my friends have something to shoot while I'm working with my 226.

PT145

PT145, by far the worst handgun I have ever owned. Bought for CCW, and realized I would need a death wish to trust it. Failure to feed is just business as usual with this thing.

Springfield TRP

I can't stand the feel of the 20 LPI front strap. I bought it because of good reports, sight unseen off gunbroker. I learned a lesson, if you can't shoot it at least handle it before you buy.

S&W PPk/s .380 ....what a POS. I was so excited to get it, and what a **** it turned out to be. Also was the most painful gun I've ever fired :barf:

Bersa .380. First one broke in two days - it's replacement broke on it's first outing .

Everyone swore up and down that it was the oddest thing ... I never replaced it after the second one.

Beretta Tomcat
And the fact that so many others were disappointed too isn't a surprise. 5 of my coworkers and myself all bought them at the same time, we all hated the inaccuracy and feeding problems.
5 out of six of us got rid of them quickly, the 6th left me his in his will!!!
I just can't seem to get away from them!
Irony sucks.

S&W MP 9mm, the gun would jam about every 2-3 shots with an FTE, chamber looked like to was finished with a rat tail file. Sent it back and they polished the chamber and the gun could hardly hold an 8 inch group from the bench at 25 yards. I took a good look in the bore and it had massive tool marking from one end. Well duh if the chamber is trash why didn't they check the bore? Sent it back again and they replaced the barrel now its down to 4 inch groups at best at 25 yards, I brought it back to the dealer told him the story and got a refund.

I would say my little Jennings J-22, but I knew straight away when my brother in law handed me the thing what a POS it was going to be. I'd guess that my Ruger P85 would be the one. What felt great in my hand at the gun shop turned out to be a slippery ergonomic mess at the range. I could never keep the grip panels tight, and the minute my hand started to sweat I could never keep a solid grip on the thing. Accuracy wasn't terrible, but it wasn't exceptional either, and the entire piece just felt poorly made and sloppy - tons of play between every moving surface, and numerous ripples in the frame (which is certainly odd for an investment cast piece). I sold it to a fellow who thought it was the most wonderful firearm ever created, so go figure. Replaced it with a 1911, commencing a decades-long love affair with John Browning's masterpiece.

My all time most disappointing handgun is without a doubt, my brand new Colt Combat Commander. I had an AMT Hardballer, a total dud, and decided to buy the "real thing". Well, it was pretty, but there wasn't a straight part in it. Two trips to Colt made it a little better, but actually, it wasn't any more reliable than the AMT was. It was sad when a co-worker's old Star that rattled like it was falling apart ran mag after mag, while my expensive Colt was lucky to get through one mag without a jam.

It wasn't the only new gun I was disappointed in, but it was the biggest one.

Kel Tec p3at, smallest POS I ever owned. Even after buff and polish, it was a jamster, unless you had a deathgrip. Glad it's gone!
