The Handgun(s) You Should Have Kept?

Every gun I sold should still be in my safe so to answer your question I shouldn't have sold anything listed below.
Remington 760 Gamemaster, Iver-Johnson pump 22lr, Colt Tropper MkIII, S&W 28,S&W 459, Ruger SP101, Beretta PX4, Para P12-45, Ruger MKIII, Glock 30 H&R single shot 12 gauge

With the exception of an early Dan Wesson .357 Magnum and a Raven Arms .25 I wish I still had every firearm I ever sold:(.

Done it many times. I sold my brother a 1973 Ruger 3-screw in 45 colt with an ACP cylinder. Serial number was(best I recall) 45-00075!! Hurting for money then, I thought he'd sell it back but alas, he sold it and I never saw it again.

In 1974 I had a Colt MKIV Series '70 45 that was stolen. Ten years later I got it back. It had went all the way from NC where I was then living, to CA. It was tied up in a murder trial in San Raphael and I eventually got it back. After keeping it about three months, I started thinking about what it had done and sold it. Should have overridden my conscience and just kept it. It cost then $159.95!

Before the Ruger Super Blackhawk I had a "standard" Blackhawk in .44 Mag. I carried it when I fished in Alaska. I paid $50 for it in pristine condition, and when I left I sold it for the same. That may be the only dumb thing I ever did, but probably not.
I also sold my M70 pre 64 .375 Mag when I left. I left in 1964.

Browning Hi-Power.

I have an HK P7M8 and I didn't see the sense in keeping another 9mm with a different MOA.

I was stupid :(

1917 S&W 45 ACP (didn;t sell this one, lost in in a burglary

Python

S&W 542

WWII Browning High Power, gave it to my father, don;t know what happened to it when he died.

Model 19 ( a couple of them)

Ruger 44 Mag, Blackhawk, flat top ( pre supper black hawk.

I'm sure there are more, but with out a doubt, the worse was my Model 25 Smith in 45 ACP. I had sent it back to S&W and had a second cylinder made or it in 45 LC.

The last was what convinced me I'll never sell another firearm.

I recently went through a similar exercise where I listed every gun I had ever owned, and which ones I still own, pretty much in the order of acquisition.

Many of those were serially owned - i.e., I traded one in to buy the next one.

I could post the whole list, but here are the ones I wish I had held onto, all purchased around 1978-1980 time frame.

S&W Model 66 (no dash) 4" revolver (miss this one the most)
S&W Model 59 9mm semiauto
Colt Combat Commander 45 satin nickel semiauto
S&W Model 29 6.5" .44 mag revolver

I can't really think of a handgun that I regret parting with; but I can think of MANY that I had an opportunity to buy and ruefully didn't.

I'm with you, predecessor. Back in the early '80s I had the opportunity to buy a 6" blue Colt Python, used but in pristine condition in the box, for $400. It was serial #1011.

Not that I didn't want it, I just didn't have the money. :(

I’ve never sold a gun.

If I don’t like a gun it’s because of a design flaw and I have two of those which I bought NIB. I won’t sell them because someone might depend on one in an emergency and it fail them. I don’t want that mark against me.

Have sold three pistols in recent years ... don't miss the XD-40 (replaced it with a far better XDm-9) or the Taurus PT-25 ... but I sure wish I had that Taurus .22mag revolver back ... I'll be getting another -- or a Smith -- for my next purchase ...

I've only sold two: The first was an original Colt Trooper (not MK III) that was my first centerfire handgun. Damned stupidest thing I ever did (up to that time, many years ago, that is - I've done many more stupid things since), and I'd happily pay twice what that gun is worth if I could get it back. The second was a Mod. 637 with the infernal lock that I sold when I was able to find a 642 without said lock. That one I don't miss.

I miss my Python

Way back in the 70's I lived in Michigan and was a security guard. I bought a 6" Colt Python for my carry gun. It was quite possibly one of the finest handguns I've ever hndled and shot. I was 18 years old and money was pretty tight back then with the economy in the tanks, much like it is now.

The company went belly up when the owner skipped the state with nearly 3 weeks wages from all the employees. It was somewhere around 2 Million bucks from what the attorneys told us.
Nededless to say I had a car and a girlfriend to finance. something had to give and I'd had enough of the security guard service so I sold the Python. I got exactly what I had originally paid for it so it wasn't much of a loss to me back then.
I never bought another gun until the day after Obama was elected. I never saw the need, or had the desire to own one.
Now, I have more guns than I'll ever need, and enough ammo to take on just about any SHTF situation that'll cross my path.
I wish I had that Python nearly every day now. Someday I'll own another one just like the one I used to own.

Gearchecker

Sometimes I regret selling my S&W M37 Flat-Latch. It really was a beautiful gun.

Then I remember how much I hated actually shooting it and the regret quickly goes away.

Ruger GP100 4" 357mag, Ruger SR9, Ruger Blackhawk 4 5/8" 45lc*
