Taurus Hand Guns are Good.

I've owned several Taurus Guns, PT1911, 24/7 .45, 24/7 C .40, Judge, Judge Public defender and only had minor issues with the 24/7 .45 but... I belong to Taurus Armed . net and it seems that the pistols have many issues and for me the money you save buying a gun with Taurus is not worth the risk. Not to say I won't own another but, I will not pay retail to own another and I would not use as my carry weapon.

Flip a coin. As a general rule; yes. Never had a bad experience myself. But I've known people who have.

Dan, that original post is old. Machining gouge or cracked cylinder...why haven't you gotten rid of it? Is it cause you have a one of a kind "magnun"? lol

Not sure what you mean, neither of the guns pictured are my guns, they are just fine examples of craftsmanship, and quality control.

But I have owned a Taurus, and it's supposed to be one of the only ones that are reliable, the 92 series. It had to go back time and time again. If you shoot like I (like) to shoot Taurus guns are not for you. For the same money you could have a Ruger that your son will someday inherit. Think about it.

My experience with Taurus was bad (NIB M85), so I'd go with No, however, some people seem to have better luck with them than others.

Does that make Taurus good or bad? In my opinion, it's a bit of both. You can get a good one and you can get a bad one. That's true regardless of who makes the gun, but I do believe your chances of a getting a bad Taurus is higher that getting a bad Ruger or S&W.

Should have been a poll

I'm not reading four pages of replies to figure out what the "correct answer" is.

Count me in the "No" column.

Yes, I have the 24/7 Pro Duo-Tone 45ACP for about a year new. I have not had any of the problems that have been posted about nose dive feeds in the magazine that can cause jamming. There have been three different generations of magazines developed and I think I was lucky enough to get the latest generation magazine that maybe had all of the kinks worked out. I have found that this firearm is very accurate also to my surprise but a pleasant one. I wouldn't sell it for twice what I paid for it:)

I see, Dan. I do currently have a Taurus. For the simple fact that i carry daily. I have come to not trust their autos. But, that's just me. I have an 85 ultra light that I put in my pocket. If it gets scratched...so what. If it gets stolen...it's not going to break my heart. It's not accurate. But then again I've never fired a .38 with a 2" barrel that was anything more than a VERY close range weapon.

This has been an interesting thread. Only about half of the posts did what the OP asked - answer 'yes' or 'no'. Of those that answered as asked, the 'yes' votes outnumber the 'no' votes by about two to one.

Wonder what you can make out of that. And wonder if the OP had said 'SIG' or 'Ruger' or 'S&W' or 'Glock' would the results have been any different. I think not.

If you get a good one they are great, if bad and have to deal with there customer service VERY BAD:eek: With Taurus not sure there is just a yes or no answer. I have a 905 I really like have a 941 I dislike. Would I recommend any Taurus to someone NEVER:eek:

For the record, I have one of the Taurus 17 HMR revolvers. I'd say it's o.k., so that would be a yes.

Laker quote: Mr. Keenan has over 10,000 post on this forum. I'll bet over half are for Taurus bashing. He must have had the worst problem possible to be that bitter against a manufacturer. Sorry about your luck sir, others have different experiences.

I'd take that bet. Can't imiage anyone having 5,000 Taurus bashing posts. We just need to check over 9,997 posts to see.
