(SOT) Serious lifestyle question that ties in with guns...

Mike, you've got it all wrong! All those trips to the john kept your muscles in tip-top shape!! :D No, seriously. I'm with FUD. I don't think I consume that amount of water regularly, but I drink a lot. It works wonders for me. Its sorta like people that run/jog/walk on a daily basis. If they miss their daily routine, then they have a fit, feel fat, out of shape, in a bad mood, whatever. If I don't get a good consumption of water daily.. I just don't feel right. Well, that and I tend to be thirsty all the time anyway.

uuuuuuuupppppppp.... time for a refill! :D

Mike, the way that it was explained to me was that ...

You're not really going on a diet to lose weight. Instead, you can eat as much as you want but in addition to eating, you have to make sure that you consume all of this water. By consuming all of this water, you are naturally going to eat less because you are always going to be full so you're calorie intake is naturally going to be less and you're not going to be hungry because you're not really dieting.

Additionally, all of this water consumption is GOOD for the body because it cleanses it of all the impurities that build up from being overweight and poor eating habits not to mention the wonders that it does for the kidneys.

I'm not claiming that people will lose 40 pounds in 10 days like I did because other factors come into play -- factors which I'm not even aware of. But even if you do for only a week and you lose only ten pounds, you still did something good for the body by cleaning it out and giving the kidneys a bath which they will appreciate.

As KaMaKaZe pointed out, drinking more water will make you "feel" better even if you don't lose any weight. Since coming home from work, I've drunk over a gallon of water.

Mike, Spend all your food money on ammo. It might be helpful to post what you eat in an average day. I got down to my desired weight by sheer will power and cutting out the soda, cookies and Junior Mints. I always ate in moderation and low fat foods but those cookies were killing me. FUD had a great idea about the water. I also started playing racket ball 4 hours per week. Good luck- you are worth it!

Hehe, Mike -- re-read my post and you'll see that nowhere do I say strap the Camelbak on your back. I use my Camelbak merely as a item to save multiple trips to the water cooler -- I put the reservoir in my desk and route the tube up through one of the drawer handles. Trust me, you'll end up drinking more water if you don't need to refill that 8 ounce cup so often....
