So much for the promise Ruger will fix their firearms

I had a similar situation, sent in a rifle that was beyond repair in their eyes. They offered me a new one at less than half price, I accepted rather promptly:D. The new rifle I got is a Hawkeye Alaskan, but apparently they never actually made any of this model......It is a 23 inch barrel, stainless, and laminated stock, I wish I could find out how many were made, none of the distributors I called have ever seen one, and say they cant get one. I got mine directly from Ruger, now my dad wants one and we cant locate one any where.

One last here and maybe this thing will die… If you think you have been wronged put it up here and you will soon see if people think it is legitimate…..
:p

Yep, don't go out and buy a Ford Mustang, and then put a blower supercharger in it, and bring it back for warranty after you blow the motor.

Actually if you get the right Roush Kit It will stay under warranty. Same way with some F150 Roush kits.

Warranties for handguns and auto's both provide 'outs' for manufacturers that think the gun was very heavily used beyond what a normal shooter /driver would do.

The competition clause applies easily to both-within reason.

In the case of Mercedes,BMW and Porsche, they have a nifty recording program in the engine computer that -if you exceed the redline of the motor just once in the car-that event voids your warranty.

Nice -in a hundred thousand dollar performance car.

In the case of a heavily used firearm,it's use in competition, the changing of it's stock components, the likely use of nonstandard reloaded handgun ammunition( easily determined through the measurement and physical conditons found in the firing surfaces and construction changes in the firearm) and the duration of use- all can be used as reasons to not replace a certain firearm.

Those Germans, I wonder if they do that with HKs.:D

No seriously, I was wondering about that for automobiles.

I beet the crap out of everything accept flesh.

One last post. No way I spent $10K on ammo. Purchased at the most 3 or 4 boxes of factory ammo. Picked up 15K of 158 grain LSWC at a garage sale for a penny a piece. Also cast my own bullets. Powder is perhaps a penny or slightly more. No requirement to shoot magnums during Steel Matches. IDPA and IPSC have power factor requirements - not Steel. No power factor requirements for Steel Match. Went through a phase in Steel where the loads were 600 fps or less. Springs can be easily replaced. No big deal. Take out a light spring and replace with a factory spring and the firearm is back to factory speciication. Can't see where competition is necessarily hard on a firearm. I'm certainly no Jerry Miculek. He might do several shots a second. I almost never finish out a match faster than 1 second per shot. If you can count every round you shoot through any firearm, you are anal retentive and I suggest you take a laxative. I shoot to enjoy myself - not practice being a bean couner. No need responding. This has been beaten to death. I won't be viewing again.
