Hallo, what would be the date of production of a Model 19-3 .357 Combat Magnum whose s/n is 7K 984xx ?

I am looking for the shipping/production date of my new S&W 686. I think it's from the 1980s. The serial number is ADV6XXX.

Serial numbers ran from A175001 in 1973 to A235000 in 1974.

Model 41's are great guns! I have two of them, one from 2001 and another from 1959. They both love CCI standard velocity.

Thanks Jim!! This is my second, I have another that looks nearly new from '84. I don't see them for sale that often so I snatched this one up.
 
It came into my shop, and I'll probably never have an opportunity to buy it. But I'd snatch it up if it came out for sale to pair with my model 15. Thanks again for the information. That's about what I figured.
