Thanks
the 1903 has a patent date of 1909 on the barrel so was it rebarreled?

I recently inherited a Model 15-3 (4" barrel) from my grandfather that I'd like some info on. S/N 15K28##. Any help would be appreciated.

It also has two additional markings just below the S/N, on the cylinder side of the hinge: "11738" and "D1". I assume they're some kind of production markings (QC maybe), but any info on that would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Your revolver fits the K serial prefix production range from 1977 (10K0001 - 24K9999). I'm not sure what the other markings you mention refer to, but perhaps someone else will know.

Part of the serial # was worn off its 1406xx wish I would have noticed that before it’s real clear under the barrel it’s a 32 S&W long

Yeah, that makes it a 5th Change.
Serial numbers ran from 102501 in 1910 to 263000 in 1917.

Smith and Wesson .357

I have a S&W .357 that I would like to buy but I would like to know a little more about it. There is no model number but the serial number seems to be S 108524, or at least I think that's the serial number because it is stamped in like 4 places on the gun. Maybe someone could help me out...

Another search request

Serial number BHS3364

Other marks MOD 10-10 stamped and what appears to be a stamped 365, the last one is kind of strange lots of tiny dots make up the charachter.

THANKS!

Someone may have answered this question already, but I figured it was easier to ask again instead of searching though 27 pages of posts... so here goes...

I have a S&W revolver, 5 round, hammerless, with what I think is called "lemon squeeze" grip. The serial number is stamped on the butt and a few other places. The serial number (45xxx) has a star after, but no letters or dashes. Also, it has a break top (I think that's what it's called!).

Can anyone tell me what this revolver is and its birthdate?

Thanks a lot...

Serial numbers ran from 25K0001 in 1978 to 56K9999 in 1979.
+P is a higher pressure version of a standard round.

It's model name is "357 Magnum" (pre model 27). Yours was made in 1954. When S&W began assigning model numbers ~ 1957 it became the model 27.
Pre 27's are very desirable with collectors.

1992.
The other numbers are assembly numbers.

What caliber, 32 or 38?

Jim

I think it's a .32 but I'm not really sure how to tell. My husband might could tell me :) This revolver belonged to my father and his mother was an antiques dealer so it wouldn't surprise me if it were really old.

Thanks
