RWS 9mm 124gr showing up @ wal-marts

Walmart ammo prices vary store to store, state to state. 9mm 115gr white box here is $12.97 while the federal was $9.99 last box I bought when they had it 2 month's ago. RWS 9mm is $16.97. I actually found 2 box's of Federal 230 gr 45acp ball for $16.97ea. I bought them for the fresh brass for my +p loads, I have a few thousand 45acp cases, but many are high mileage. I have seen as much as a $2.00 difference for the same 9mm ball ammo between Walmart stores less than 5 miles apart.

RWS

I shot a box of this today through my Kahr K9. Not especially clean, not very dirty either. Reminded me of Winchester NATO ball somewhat. Good ammo, but I'd buy that cheaper Federal anyday though. ;)

I've noticed it appearing here as well. I don't own a 9mm though so.....

The Walmart nearest my office had a LOT of this ammo today. Several cases worth it appeared.

RWS Ammo

Haven't seen or shot any in 9mm, but RWS is top of line company. And you are getting a little heavier bullet.
Has anyone chronographed any of this ammo? If so let us know.

Pray and Shoot Daily.

Have your musket clean as a whistle, hatchet scoured, sixty rounds powder and ball, and be ready to march at a minute's warning.

We have this at my Wal-Mart. Also $17 a box. Seems pretty high to me for FMJ ammo. If their ammo is very high quality as stated, I would pay to try out some JHPs, but I don't see any reason to pay that much for FMJ ammo. As a reloader, I was tempted to spend the money to see how it compares to my loads and also to see how nice the brass is, but that's awfully expensive.

I have always prefered 124gn ammo in the 9mm to 115g, particularly when loaded to potential. While WWB 115g is fine for a fun day at the range, I happen to believe that a hot-loaded FMJ has it's uses as well in SD, and WWB 115gn would not be my choice for that role. I have used the Winchester NATO load and found it to be pretty hot, and accurate in my pistols...I have kept a few mags of it for future reference.

the walmart here has it too, but they said they will not get anymore, because of some complaints

i just saw some today

RWS Ammo

RWS ammo is always expensive.I have some 22LR and it's very good stuff-I bought mine a long time back. That said I won't pay what they're getting for it now.remember,it's German,so the dollar vs.euro situation affects price.

I was at Walmart today and saw this stuff for the first time. I looked at it and saw it was Swiss made and 124gr. I picked up my six box quota. When I got home I read a little about it. http://www.rws-usa.com/rws_sport_fmj.php Looks like it's loaded to NATO spec. Good stuff! I think I'd rather buy these fresh, stringently made rounds than for what the ammo peddlers are trying to scalp old stock Winchester and Federal NATO for. AIM has the Dynamit Nobel 124gr. for a little cheaper, but I don't know if it is as strictly made as this stuff, even if it is made in the same factory.

My local WM had a bunch of this today. $18.97 here. They also had more handgun ammo then I've seen in a long time, for the second week in a row.

Went to WM Saturday and they had the RWS 9mm marked down to 12.97 a box so I only bought a couple of boxes since I was not familar with it. They had about 50 boxes of it so maybe I need to go back and buy some more.

None at my Wal-Mart, but if I'm shooting FMJ then Winchester White Box is fine with me and it's always in stock around here (90% of the reason I bought a 9mm).

i found this ammo at walmart by me for 12.97, the guy who sold it to me said they dropped the price b/c people were giving bad reviews about this ammo, i tried one box and i wasnt happy with it so i wont be buyin i again.

Wow! I'm even seeing .380 ACP now at Wal-Mart! And .38 Special. And Winchester 'NATO' 9mm FMJ.

Sounds like the ammo shortage is over.
