Rugers Website

They should put the count down back up and reset it for 6 months... maybe next time they will do something worth the effort.

Yeah they just slightly altered what they already had. And I never got why the GP-100 held so few rounds. It holds 6 rounds of .357 while smith holds 7..........then they make a 7 round 327....while smith and wesson would be able to do 8.

I, for one, AM excited about the SR9c! I have been looking for the right concealable semi-auto. Being a Ruger guy (I only own Ruger handguns), I wasn't able to find the right one for me. This may be it.

I'll check it out in-store ASAP but, even if I like it, I'll wait until the price levels off before I buy.

Criuse on over to Gunblast. Jeff Quinn has articles this morning on the compact 9, the .327 Blackhawk, and the .327 GP100.

Articles that cant be trusted. Ruger gives him a product to review, in return he gives them glowing reviews....no matter what.

Well, that is a pretty bold statement. Exactly what have they wrtten up from Ruger in glowing terms that was not so? When you say "no matter what" the clear implication is that you have knowledge of one or more articles that were "glowing" while the actual product failed to live up to that standard while it was being reviewed.

Something that failed to meet someone else's expectaion at some other time can hardly be used to impune the character of another person who had a different experience of course. Please tell me what was tested and reviewed by Jeff or Boge Quinn that they lied about. That is the crux of it. Calling them liars. I don't mind calling a spade a spade, but to do so without being willing to put your cards on the table speaks volumes about a man. Please, let's see those cards.

I'd trade glowing reviews for guns too if I could.

I want a youth 10/22 in stainless with a laminated stock, well actually I want three, one for each of my sons

Every product has a glowing review from him. The design of every pistol can not possibly be perfect. He has to, at some point have a failure in something, but not according to the reviews. I agree they are worthless.

I sent a message to the CEO expressing my disappointment.

I like nutnfancy's reviews, he has completely different tastes in guns and some of his ideas make me laugh (aluminum cased ammo to make you more manuverable, etc.) but hes unbiased and reviews his or his frieds guns. He also brings up criticisms that need to be said.

With regard to the objectivity of the Gunblast reviews, well, we take everything we read with a grain of salt, no?

To me, the SR9c actually looks useful. The SR9 really was useless for me as I already have two full-size 9MMs. The c does fill a new niche (CCW), for me at least. Finally, it does look cooler than the full-size version.

SPUSCG, no to belabor the obvious, but likeing someone else's reviews hardly is evidence of dishonest activity on the part of another. Maybe I just come from another generation than some, but I have an issue with calling a person a liar, and doing so sans evidence. It is not something one should do lightly, as you appear to have done.

Appologies for inappropriate behavior also are sorely lacking anymore.

i think it is a little disappointing. And I don't think it was worth the countdown. But I will say they are listening to their fans right now and making things that people want. In this case, a concealable 9mm. It can be a big deal for ruger since its their first concealable 9mm. But, you can conceal a Sr9 just as easily as a p345 with no problem. I can see the reason, but its just not for me

I'll definitely have a look at the SR9c, it appears to fit nicely in a slot between my LCP and P95.

Length - 5.16" (LCP), 6.85" (SR9c), 7.25" (P95)
Height - 3.6" (LCP), 4.61" (SR9c), 5.75" (P95)
Width - 0.82" (LCP), 1.27" (SR9c), 1.20" (P95)
Weight - 9.4 oz (LCP), 23.4 oz (SR9c), 27 oz (P95)

Then again, the only significantly different dimension compared to a P95 is the height, and the SR9C is actually wider. To me the below dimensions would be a great 9mm concealable pistol (halfway between the P95 and LCP for all):

Length - 6.1"
Height - 4.6"
Width - 1.0"
Weight - 18 oz

Yikes, I think I just described the Kel-Tec PF-9, which is actually a little smaller and lighter...

I think the SR9c was probably a wise choice. It fills a gap in their line and addresses a very popular market segment. Considering how glaring was it's absence, and the fact that it is backed up by two new revolver iterations, I won't fault them for the countdown.

Gun writers seem to find themselves walking a line between giving a truthful account of their experience with a gun, and not offending a manufacturer to the point of finding themselves outside the loop. That's life in America. A useful skill to develop is the ability to read between the lines to find the truth most all are able to encode within the text. If Jeff Quinn tends to find little to complain about when it comes to Ruger guns, that puts him in the company of a lot of people here.

To contend that nutnfancy gives good reviews is to sacrifice credibility. His reviews are filled with sharp criticisms, which give them an air of honesty to the viewer who doesn't know about the guns he is reviewing. However, his reviews are so filled with simple, blatant factual inaccuracies, omissions, and misconceptions as to make them worthless as anything but entertainment. That is, if you find worthless prattle entertaining. His use of the Glock as a "reference standard" adds another level of needless subjectivity, the acceptance of which I find odd in the face of complaints about Jeff Quinn's lack of objectivity towards Ruger.

I think it is only a matter of time before we see LCR technology incorporated into other, different Ruger revolvers. The company has too much time and money invested in the design to waste it on a single product line, particularly given its great success in the market.

And when it does, I will buy!

I do think the concept of a polymer 1911 to be attractive, and I think Ruger could make a great one.

I am also anxious to see how Ruger and others respond to Kel-Tec's recent announcement of a single action .22 mag pistol with the 30-round mag. That is an appealing product to me, personally, though I don't really know why.

This statement is cowardly and uncalled for. Ruger DOES NOT give away guns to writers. If Jeff Quinn wishes to keep said gun, he has to pay for it. Big talk from an anonymous internet nut.

S&W will not fit eight rounds of .327 into an L-frame. The increase in pressure pretty much negates the decrease in cartridge diameter. Besides, who really cares??? I was hoping for a six shot Single Six and would much rather have that than an eight-shot large frame Blackhawk.

It never ceases to amaze me how friggin' negative shooters are. If they don't make what you want, maybe next time they will. If you REALLY want what they don't make, contact a gunsmith to make your dreams come true. Rest assured somebody wants it and you just peed in their cornflakes.
