Rugers Website

Blackhawk II huh?

It actually sounds pretty interesting. I don't know if I like the idea of it being polymer based. But, the whole laser idea sounds cool. It will definitely be one to check out. Especially since it will be offered in .44 and .357 - my two favorite revolver calibers....

Then again, there's a chance absolutely none of that is true. Two more days, and we'll see.

Me thinks Single Six .327 as production, perhaps with a 327 mid-frame FT/NV - with convertible .32-20 cylinder as a possibility...but the mid-frame most likely as limited test run with Lipseys/Davidsons first? A Montado NV variant would be interesting as well, to keep the weight down. Another hoped-for possibility: NV .44 Special -- in regular and Montado forms :-)

I don't see them coming out with another "whopper" (.480-.500-somethingorother) with this kind of anticipatory build up.

+1 on plenty 1911s out there...not seeing it unless something semi-revolutionary or at least not current market saturated, like an "affordable" .40 Commander-size, maybe even double stack, in polymer or some such.

They already have a slim 45. The SR9 is fairly skinny. An "SR40" seems possible...but is it revolutionary enough for a countdown?

Rugers marketing people are smiling while reading the discussions on line. It also shows what we REALLY want to see come out.

Beentown

in all honesty I want them to come out with a 1911. i would pick one up, as long as its not at an 800 dollar price. I asked them about it a few times myself. Why would I want one? Just because.
It doesn't seem like ruger though, because all of there weapons have safeties that are numerous. I can see a polymer 1911. Charles Daily didn't create the polymer 1911, IWI(Israeli Weapons Industries) did. Daily just markets them. Just like the Jericho line which is just the new name for the baby eagle series. I would want to see one with a built in laser. They did it for other models, I don't see why they wouldn't again.

I hope it is a 1911. I'm not buying the whole revolver idea.

What's that line called - Hard R, or something? A 1911 would definitely fit the bill. So would a new striker fired pistol. Or another AR, a different caliber maybe?

maybe its something Paul JR designed i saw on American choppers he was pitching himself to them if this has already been discredited feel free to sentence me to a firing squad but you can only use jennings products in it.

I'm excited either way. 1911 or revolver or ______. I'm always quite satisfied with any Ruger I have fired. Wishful thinking but maybe they brought back the break action revolver?! I always loved that design!:D:D:D

2 more days!

Ruger seems pretty intent on making up for all those years Bill Sr. snubbed the concealed carry crowd.

The lack of a .40 S&W smaller that the P944 makes for a pretty noticeable hole in their lineup. It is a very popular round with "heat packers," and a SR40 might indeed make enough long awaited waves to warrant a countdown.

That said, I think I will put my money on a compact 9mm. Either a small, single-stack similar in size to the Taurus 709 Slim or the Kel-Tec PF-9, or a compact version of their SR9. The countdown has me leaning toward the former.

It's probably going to be a new 1911 polymer, to compete with Wilson's new offering. But, I'd rather see Ruger introduce a single stack 9mm in an LCP type configuration.

THIS^^^

That is what I am hoping for.

There's no way I could possibly buy one but once upon a time, Ruger was working on a .308 M14 style rifle. That'd be nice. While we're waiting for that, a 1911 would be nice. Everyone but them makes one, even Colt. But revolutionary?

Ok guys, ease up with all the Ruger 1911 stuff ok. It WILL happen, just wait a bit. However, not just yet. Have on very good authority it will NOT be at SHOT. Still working a few details out on it before announcing it officially. Keep your pants on and breathe.
