Ron Paul just ended his campaign

b22, just be clear, he has good reasons to be angry with the American policy and government, no good reason to ram planes into buildings.

Of course, he should be found and slowly executed for that. We should have focused on that the whole time. Instead we started a war (Iraq) that has destroyed the image of America, given us a massive debt that we may not ever be able to pay off and turned thousands more regular muslims into terrorists.

There have been more American soldiers killed in Iraq than were killed on 9/11. There have also been at least 63796 Iraqi civilians killed.

For those of you that support him, do us a favor and vote for a true conservative in the race.

And just who in the Hell might that be?

Sorry, Ron Paul has my vote and financial support. Telling the truth and upholding the Constitution gets you my unwavering loyalty.

I posted before reading through the entire thread.

Mr. Apathy, would you consider being Vice-President?:D

It's a shame that his words are twisted & demagogued in such a way. However, arguably he should have seen it coming, and steered clear. He was easily 100 times better than the second best candidate in EITHER party for POTUS 2008.

True conservative? Yeah, who might that be? Huckabee or Hunter maybe....

Priceless Response

From Thomas Woods:

(Dr Paul) explained that foreign policy has consequences, and that political and military interference around the world has a tendency to stir up whole peoples against us. If we ignore this simple and obvious fact, we do so at our peril. His implicit conclusion was that the shenanigans of our government have made our people more hated and more vulnerable than ever. In sum, if you want to play empire, you cannot pretend that doing so will be costless.

To the propagandized automatons of 2007 America, this is called "blaming America" for 9/11. I guess detectives should bear that in mind the next time they seek the motive behind a murder. "You're looking for motive? Are you saying the dead man had it coming?"

Wow, MrApathy, don't sugar coat it! Say how you really feel.:) Your screen name is definately a misnomer, you're anything but apathetic! Be careful, you may offend all the toadies and cheerleaders.:D Rock on!!

I cant explain it used to be a time I couldnt care less. its a irony I cant explain.

if only I could bring around my poor misguided friend MrIgnorance around but just no telling him the information he
has been fed is propaganda with a agenda for power behind it.

the politics of fear is tyranny!

Vice President, I would consider it for 1 microsecond and respond no. would take worse things for me to say yes.
wouldnt mind being an aid.

nevermind the swarm of attacking and threatening to attack bee's I am sure they are angry for reasons other than someone attacking and occupying there hive.

publius42,
Thank you for posting that. I always enjoy hearing and reading what Prof. Woods has to say.
Guess, he has a new article on Lew Rockwell or American Conservative.

Conservative Republican? I heard that was an endangered species near extinction. So should I vote for an egg sucking Republican or an egg sucking Democrat?

I dont see eye to eye with Ron Paul on all the issues. However on the other issues I agree 100%. I figure if the Republicans, Democrats, Big Buisness and media hate him he has to be doing something right.

Debt and Taxes....hit the nail on the head. Get rid of the IRS, pork and will work for balanced budgets and no federal reserve.

Domestic and Foriegn issues...we are getting the short end of the stick on NAFTA and the other agreements

War...Why did we invade Iraq instead of cleaning up in Afghanistan?

Foreign Policy: Need a better foreign policy that support those who truly need our help vs those who use us for their own causes while giving support and performing acts that are not in the intrest of the security of the United States. A foreign policy that promotes nation security over private economic concerns.

Privacy & Personal Liberties....its about the Bill of Rights and the Constitution!

Property Rights and Eminent Domain... stop politicians and special interests from violating the little guys property rights.

Abortion: I beleive that folks should have the right to pursue an abortion. I dont agree with abortions but its the law.

While Ron Paul might not win I plan on voting for him because the Dems and Republicans rate just below an egg sucking dog on my trust scale. They look you right in the eyballs and tell you about what they stand for knowing they really dont beleive in the words coming out of their mouths. Its all about the power and influence not being a steward to the nation.

So yeh you can cuss me for believing I am wasting that vote...Thats the great thing about America. I can vote for whomever I desire.

I guess there are 4400 folks who think the rest are egg suckers also...lol

Ron Paul isnt saying that America caused 9/11 to happen. if you pause a minute and listen and think (critical part) The politicians and private economic concerns who have cobbled our froreign policy together and oversee national security are responsible for 9/11. Thats why they dont want Ron Paul around.

Did it look like Ghouliani was reading a script at the debate in SC? He looked down every time he was asked a question, like he was looking at notes. Surely he didn't know what was going to be asked ahead of time.

badbob

Yeah, I'm sure Giuliani's notes went something like this:

1) I was THERE on 9-11
2) I was mayor of NEW YORK CITY
3) Look for opportunities to remind people about 1 and 2

So you think the US government can do no wrong and should never be blamed for anything? And you equate the American government with America?

I never said the US Government can do no wrong. I did say that Ron Paul shot himself in the foot by implying that America is to blame for 9/11.

No, he did not. He said that American foreign policy was to blame. America is not equivalent to its government. If it is, then watch out if a Democrat gets elected, because every time you disagree with the Democratic president you will be acting "unpatriotic" and "unAmerican."

Yes he did. I am already blamed if I do not agree with a Democrat, and it appears that I am being blamed by you and the "Blame America" Crowd for not being on board with Mr. Pauls insane implication. By your statement, it would be ok for us gun owners to revolt, because of years of 'Unfair" laws/policies.

They reacted like a herd of bleating sheep.

No, they reacted like any American that still has anger over 9/11. Bleating Sheep, I dont think so.

No, I judge for myself without looking to see what the majority is doing. The majority isn't always right, and frequently the majority are extremely gullible, as when most Americans were suckered into invading Iraq in the first place because of "Saddam's WMDs." However, I have heard that Ron Paul did very well in the polls after the debate, so maybe there's a ray of hope.

I think you are confused. Every Intelligence Agency, before the Iraq invasion, had intel that Saddam had WMD's. Spin it how you want. Most Politicians on either side believed Saddam had WMD's. Out of all the statements made by our elected officials, Democrat and Republican, about Saddam before the invasion, Bush is the only one who Lied. I find that very telling.

Osama bin Laden himself stated that the reasons for 9/11 were (1) US military presence in Arabian lands, (2) Iraq sanctions (which killed many thousands of innocent Iraqis), and (3) uncritical US support for Israel. These were the reasons he gave, and they all relate to foreign policy.

Terrorists have every reason to tell the truth about their motives and goals. They have no reason to lie -- what would be the point of lying about their demands? So US meddling in the Middle East is unquestionably the reason why radical Islamists hate the US. The current Iraq occupation is only making it worse.

Since when do We care about what Bin Laden says, and as far as Terrorists have no reason to lie, please Grow up and get your head out of the sand.

I am not even going to address the rest of your insane comments. Face it, Paul will not get the nod. It boils down to this; Vote for the man if you want, dont vote for him if you want. Just dont hide from the fact that he did state/imply that America is to blame for 9/11. I wont support him, and will speak out against him.

I think you are confused. Every Intelligence Agency, before the Iraq invasion, had intel that Saddam had WMD's.
Yeah, there was all kinds of evidence -- like the aluminum tubes and the Nigerian uranium.

Obviously you've never heard about how the intelligence was cooked and about how many intelligence officials were resigning in protest over the lies that were being propagated by the administration. You've probably never heard of the PNAC, either, or the "Office of Special Plans" that was thrown together by Douglas Feith, who was linked to Israeli espionage against the US. Sounds like you've been getting all your information from Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity.

I knew very well prior to the Iraq invasion that a phony case was being made for the war. I said so on boards like AR15.com and got flamed for it. Now it turns out that people like me were right all along, and we've earned the right to rub that in the faces of those who attacked our views.

Since when do We care about what Bin Laden says, and as far as Terrorists have no reason to lie, please Grow up and get your head out of the sand.
I think you're the young and inexperienced one here. Terrorists always tell the truth about their motives; if they didn't, then they would be wasting their time with their attacks! A terrorist who lies about his motives is like a kidnapper who requests $100,000 ransom while keeping his real goal, to get a buddy released from prison, a secret. Would that makes sense? THINK, for God's sake.

Well, I'm not going to waste any more time trying to clue you in. If you still think that Bush et al. are honest, and that the only friend of the Constitution among the current presidential candidates -- Ron Paul -- hates America, then I can't help you. Go ahead and vote for anti-gun, anti-Constitution, cross-dressing Giuliani if it makes you feel more patriotic.

+1 for SteelCore!

When I get out of the Army..in 10 years or so..I plan to start a political campaign..I only hope that I can prove to be half the man that Ron Paul is. He is the closest thing we have to a modern Thomas Jefferson.

If anyone thinks Ron Paul was wrong, here are the reasons according to Bin Laden himself.

I feel bad saying this but he has many good reasons to be angry with America.
No need to feel bad about it -- it only means you have a conscience and haven't been caught up in the wave of feel-good fascism that washed over the US after 9/11.

Those who believe the lie that "they hate us for our freedom" are utterly clueless.

I hate many things about the US government. This nation is run by a bunch of hypocritical bastards who preach about "freedom" and "human rights," yet they have no problem putting brutal dictators like Pinochet in power, granting Communist China "most favored nation" trading status, or calling Israel's carpet-bombing of civilian areas in Lebanon in response to the capture of a couple of soldiers "self-defense." When the US government talks about "freedom" and "human rights," it's just as a lure to fool the simple-minded masses.

What true patriots love are the principles on which America was founded. The Bill of Rights, the idea of government by consent of the governed -- these are what we support, not a bunch of wealthy, champagne-sipping, caviar-eating millionaires who play Risk with ordinary peoples' lives. This is why I support Ron Paul so much -- he's the first politician to come along in a LONG time who really cares about America's founding principles.

You've got my vote!

What gets me is that people deride what the terrorists did as cowardice, yet laud George Washington and his fellow conspirators as "patriots."

For their day, they were cowards, in that they hid behind rocks and trees to fight, rather than do it in the open, like gentlemen.

In battle, they deliberately targeted officers.

They burned down the homes and offices of government officials, many times with the occupants still inside.

At the time, they were traitors- since there was no "United States" for them to be patriots of-

Terrorism is defined by the US Government as "A violent act or an act dangerous to human life, in violation of criminal law, to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives."

Under today's definition- they were terrorists.

Those who win the wars get to write the history books.

I am not saying that we DESERVED 9/11, and I don't think Ron Paul was. What I am saying, and what I believe Mr Paul was as well, is that 9/11- or an attack similar in nature, was a foreseeable result of our meddling in middle eastern affairs, just as Pearl Harbor was a foreseeable result of our meddling in Japanese affairs.
