A Democratic state delegate has asked Attorney General Mark Herring (D) for a formal opinion on the Second Amendment sanctuary declarations being passed in a growing number of conservative counties across the state.
I would guess none. The districts where the GOP didn't run a candidate are all in solid blue areas where they have no chance and it makes no sense to spend resources. Do you really think it makes sense to run a GOP candidate in a district that went 80% for Hillary? It's hard enough to defend GOP seats in purple districts where voters in the center are targeted by the Dems with millions of dollars in outside money because orange man bad. If you hate Trump more than you like your gun rights then vote Democrat and give up your guns when the inevitable ban is enacted.USNRet93 said:20 possible in Virginia out of 95 counties. How many of those counties resided in districts where NO GOP candidate ran in the last VA election?

The Feds want all the information on the folks who downloaded the app because of possible illegal export issues.
The request from Google and Apple for the information includes everyone who has downloaded the app to run/set up/remote view these scopes. They are reporting that this is in excess of 10,000 users, so may include some TFL members.
then vote Democrat and give up your guns when the inevitable ban is enacted.
USNRet93 said:Not wishing to start a political drift but trump isn't the friend of gun rights people. His rhetoric shows that depending on his audience and whether or not the TV cameras are on, he 'may' say anything, AND HAS...UBC, 21 year old age limit, RFL, but 2 things have come to pass..The bump stock ban and the new DOJ program targeting people(gun people) who have gone online about a rifle scope. AND DOJ asking for personal info about them. Not exactly 'gun friendly'..IMHO.
I thought red flag laws (RFLs) were a state problem, not a federal problem. Is Trump pushing for a national/federal red flag law?
The DOJ inquiry into users of the scope app is not about gun control, it's basically a mix of national security and export of technology issue. Those scopes and that app are not supposed to be sold outside of the U.S., but apparently some have made it beyond our borders in violation of the laws. If you are a lawful owner of the scope and a person who has downloaded the app it's unfortunate that the feds may find out you have it, but I don't see this as a gun control ploy and I don't expect the feds to come after U.S. owners to confiscate their scopes.
It's a firearms accessory, so it stands to reason that the vast majority of buyers are gun owners.USNRet93 said:As for number 2..the majority of those 'targeted' are gun owners, correct? And this driven by barr/DOJ. I doubt trump even knows about it but it is HIS DOJ...
“The bills passed by the General Assembly and signed into law by the governor are binding for our entire Commonwealth and its citizens,” Jones wrote. “The legal precedent we would set by allowing communities to selectively ignore those laws at will is alarming and indicative of the same mindset that nearly one hundred and fifty years ago led this country to dissolve into a civil war.”
When's the next VA election for state legislature? Now at 43 Second Amendment Sanctuary counties, towns, and cities. Need to keep up the pressure and contact your county supervisors. Also, contact your state delegate and senator and let them know that VA will not be controlled by out of touch trans plants and out of state money.
I understand the importance of sending a message, but if the way the message is sent is illegal, does that really help our cause??
We just had the election for the state offices. They won't happen again for two years. Virginia has off year elections for state offices so we're always in an election cycle alternating between national and state elections. When's the next VA election for state legislature?
Only way to 'not be controlled' is to make the state legislature reflect the 'majority'..but that takes $ and resolve. Sounds like you have the 'resolve', but blaming 'trans plants' and 'out of state money'...sounds like a place to look for the next election...$$, and more $$...
That's my point...this much post election outrage has to be channeled and transformed into support at the ballot box, IMHO..If the last VA state legislature races were CLOSE, it would be one thing but, in a lot of cases, they weren't.We just had the election for the state offices. They won't happen again for two years. Virginia has off year elections for state offices so we're always in an election cycle alternating between national and state elections.
Made my point better than me...+1the demographics of Virginia have changed and are still changing, even in some rural counties. Even getting your base core of support out is going to be less and less effective as time goes on. its time to change tactics and broaden that base. thumping your chest and threatening civil war isnt going to get it done. And its not just virginia.
