Pistols similar to the Glock 19

When it comes to size... Close to/similar is the best you can do.

Maybe call it a "class" based on size.

The 320 compact is similar, as well as the CZ P07. Close but different in some ways as far as size goes.

The VP9 is definitely bigger, and more G17 in size... But I think the lines blend better and would make carry easier than with a G17 for printing and things... Never tested that theory though.

Since this is just for fun, possible purchase just to have... Is there a reason to stay in the size range of the G19?

And aerosol cleaner can really be handy for cleaning up after a tumble into mud or other things.

With the 320... Cleaning it out would be simple without detail stripping, as the inner frame comes out and is pretty open and will allow gunk to flow out well when cleaning.

If you like the HK P2000, ya can always get the LEM trigger model.

Didn't know the VP9 was that big. I usually don't like anything smaller than a P229 or Glock 19 though. I do carry full sized, but at work I prefer compacts.

Like going out with a woman, it could be for fun, then you could end up marrying her.

I don't like having safe queens and don't have any, so it'll potentially be a carry gun some day.

Lol, I have that. I order them in packs of 6 from Uline.

That was awesome. Thank you for that.
Not a fan of CZ.
That P320C doesn't look so bad at all though.

Does the higher bore make it any more weird with recoil? (Can't believe I asked that. Same question I'd get when people would see me carrying a P226. The answer was always "no". Is it the same with the P320C?)

I find the 320 to be a mild shooter, similar to the 226... A little less smooth though.

I did an edit to my post that is likely missed... That the modular design of the 320 makes cleaning easy.

I also understand wanting to keep the pistols practical. As I don't do anything to my pistols that would make them ill suited to use in defense if needed.

If I did competition then that would be different.

Also... What cleaner do you use?

I'm still curious why you don't like CZ. I'm not sitting here like, "Dammit you have to own one!" This is a free country and I don't own stock in CZ (idk if CZ is even a publicly traded company). I'm just legitimately curious. From the sounds of it you don't need a new pistol at all. You'd basically like one in a certain size to try out. I get it, I get bored with pistols now and again myself. It just seems to me that CZ is a brand that happens to have a pistol in exactly the size you're looking for (the P-01 and PCR are pretty close too) and is a brand you've never owned. Getting one would allow you to maybe scratch two itches at the same time. You know I've owned SIGs and HKs, plenty of them. But that hasn't stopped me from appreciating CZs. I'd like to hear your reasoning.

It didn't for me!

Another ya may wanna look at is the FNH FNS-9 (shown with a P320C)....

There ya go, a whole buttload of comparison pics I made:

The FNS is a very nice and well built pistol, I put a couple of mags through my buddies .40 a d it handled real good and hit where I was shooting

+100 on the FNS. My favorite striker pistol to date!

I know it's not a striker, but my P2000 is the closest thing to a Glock 19 in size I have seen. Perfect sized handguns.

I have 2 Glocks that I like a lot that I can hit targets pretty well with. But I got off the "I have to carry a striker-fired pistol" bandwagon. I like those "Hickok45" videos but I think that his spiel that He'd rather carry a Glock since every trigger pull is the same, is actually a bit of BS. I think ol' Hickock definitely sold a lot of Glocks since he started doing his videos! But I would much rather carry hammer-fired after I replaced my Glock 17 EDC with an HK P30 because I hit the targets better with the HK. Now I may eventually replace the "V3" trigger variant with a "V1" Light LEM trigger variant, but I train & practice to control that DA trigger pull and it's gotten a lot better

I agree with you in that it is complete BS of a selling point to mention the exact same trigger pull. Its the exact same with an HK or a SIG. Double 1 time and single the rest of the way until whenever the gun empty or you hit the decocker. I've also grown very accustomed to double action / single action.

My HK45CT is a V3. I love that gun lol. My favorite pistol of all time is my P226.

The Glock bandwagon is annoying, I do agree. But I see a lot of good reasoning as to why everyone and their mother is carrying one.

Hey now, don't forget, a real DAO has the same trigger pull for every shot as well, just longer and heavier than most people wanna train to be proficient with!

Curious what's so bad about the DAK system, you're not the first I've heard complain.
For reference I've shot most other DAOs 3rd gen Smith, Kahr, Ruger LC9/LCP and most brands of revolvers even had a AMT Backup 45.

The DAK is Sig's "hybrid" DAO trigger that has a 6.5# pull when fired normal (allowing trigger to reset fully forward), but has an intermediate reset point with an 8# pull (to prevent short-stroking the trigger on the return). Some people love it, some people hate it, just like the HK LEM trigger system.

When it comes to Sig, I like it (DAK), but still prefer the straight 6.5# pull on the P250.
