Piers Morgan show getting canceled

CNN finally came to their senses and realized offending gun owners was not worth the terrible ratings.
While offending gun owners might have been part of it, the main problem was simply ratings. That could be caused by any number of factors, including more popular shows occupying that time slot on other networks.

I've no doubt he'll blame the "gun lobby" for some part of his failure, but a lack of interesting guests and a biased interview style in general also contributed.

I don't want British citizens (current or former) lecturing me on gun control, we already went through that back in 1776 when we played colonists and Redcoats. I live in Northern Idaho which is a heavily armed society by choice, we walk around town carrying guns and have them in our vehicles, most people act right as you might expect.

Good... I dont care why is going off the air as long as he gets off and goes back to where he came from!!!!

Great news! It is probably because of ratings, but at least that means that people are getting tired of listening to him.

He was pretty easy to dislike.

Last year he also stated that if US gun laws didn't become more strict in the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings, that he'd consider returning to England.

I hope now that he has more time, he gives the matter more serious review...

While I'm of two minds about Larry Pratt, he was civilized and patient in his first go-round with Morgan. And what did he get? This. I don't care what the issue is, or who's right. A display like that from a man in Morgan's position is absolutely unacceptable.

Did we (or Pratt) get an apology? Heck no. Morgan doesn't do apologies, not now and not when he slandered the Queen's Lancashire Regiment.

I daresay his chances of finding gainful employment in the UK may be worse than his chances here.

Morgan....

I wasn't a huge fan of PM but I honestly don't watch a lot of cable news series so I can not comment on the show.
I do know Morgan was or maybe is involved in a UK scandal over cell phone recordings/wire taps/media reports etc.
I saw a news report that he was interviewed "under caution" by police investigators.

As for PM's steady drum-beat of anti 2A remarks & guests, I don't think it gained him any US fans.
I remember a post-Sandy Hook interview Morgan did with a older guy who claimed to be a lawyer & former NRA member who had a lethal force event.
The guest railed against the NRA saying they didn't have any safety programs or concern for safety with firearms, . The guest seemed confused & aloof. Morgan just let him prattle on even when he contradicted himself & left out a lot of details, re; firearms & the law(s).
I'm not sure who or what CNN plans to put in the Morgan slot. They had Glenn Beck who shifted over to Fox then cork-screwed into the ground.

I can respect someone I disagree with. One of my closest friends is a strong gun control proponent, but he's intelligent and tactful about it, and never forceful. He will hear the evidence I have to present, and genuinely consider it.

I cannot possibly respect someone so bubbling with self-righteous certainty in his own opinion that he oozes contempt for anyone who dares to disagree.

One can only hope he becomes a forgotten name.

.....British citizens (current or former) lecturing (Americans) on gun control,

...is a sure-fire, slam-dunk, "where's the remote so I can change the channnel" recipe for low ratings .....

Last year he also stated that if US gun laws didn't become more strict in the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings, that he'd consider returning to England.

Dear Mr. Morgan:

Buh-Bye!

Sincerely,
jimbo86

I wish he was fired, but he will still be there in another capacity. I hope the ratings will drop again in his new roll, whatever that may be.

The last nail in his coffin was when Nancy Grace had to remind him the reason Americans have guns is because Brits like him came into our homes and took our stuff.
