Got these desert ironwood grips for my Colt XSE in blue steel. No pics with the grips mounted on the pistol yet.

These were made for me by my son.

Red oak and conchos on a chromed 1911. That 1911 was built in 1915 and it shoots as good now as the day it left the Colt factory.

You're very welcome! Glad you find it useful - and yes, that gentleman knows how to make grips! Takes a lot of trial and error and wasted wood!

The good thing is that the tools he's using, with the exception of that mill, are not outlandishly expensive for a hobbyist woodworker. You don't need production-level machinery to work on small pieces like this. Obviously the tricky part is drilling and counterboring the screw holes properly, but it can definitely be done with a drill press, steady eye, and lots of practice.
