70-101 . Just for the record the 173rd came the closest to a "combat jump" in Feb. 1967 .Many airborne troops jumped just to get somewhere quickly but never close enough to be considered a "combat jump". This term is reserved for a "behind the lines" infiltration . I don't remember there ever being a "line". I must admit that the 101st served well especially in the Anshaw (sp) Valley . Hamburger Hill to be exact . AIRBORNE!!!

Airborne, airborne, airborne. All they can talk about is jumpin' out of airplanes, yada, yada, yada............... Don't you realize that units have evolved out of that primative airborne state to a higher level, called Air Assault? Besdies any idiot can follow the guy in front of him out of the door of the plane. "Pick-up your ropes and follow me........."
