Outback Steakhouse in Fairfax does NOT want our money

"IMHO all steak chains don't have decent steaks (Ruth's Chris and Morton's excluded)"

I've NEVER had a decent steak at Ruth's Chris, especially not for the freaking price that they charge.

Morton's is a little better, but again, the price...

I've had consistently good (not great) steaks at Lone Star and Outback.

If you want a GREAT steak, go to Nebraska. The best steaks I've ever had in my life were at a steak house near the Sheraton off of I-92.

True, I ate at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse here in s. Florida once with my dad and brother, and for the three of us, the bill was like almost $200. The steaks were each about $30!!!!! That's absurd. There is no way, to me, that a $30 steak can taste and be that much better than a $10-15 steak that I could cook for myself, or even one that I can get at the Roadhouse Grille or the Outback, or any other small, non-chain restaurant. In West Palm Beach, I am told, The Okeechobee Steakhouse is hard to beat for great steak dinners. I have to try it some time.

and Mike, great jab about making them leave their guns in the HMMWVs!

Ha Ha....no, food was served in our mess hall, we were all armed as per theater regulation (Never go ANYWHERE without weapon and ammo).
