Glenn,

The Constitution says what it says in plain English.
It is not a "living, breathing" document, as liberals
would have you believe. It is in fact a document
"etched in stone". If it were not, the Founders would
not have given us an amendment procedure.

Just because some previous SCOTUS "bastardized"
its meaning, doesn't change the fact that it says
"shall NOT be infringed" no ands, ifs or buts !!

Either you believe or you don't. Either you or
for it or against it.

Most of the problems in this country is from
people trying to add or subtract from that
great document.

And it is that SIMPLE!!!!

in constantines defense i believe hearing somewhere that miami gardens has the number 1 most police fatalites in the nation and are the 3rd highest paid in the east coast?

OH, give me a break, Hunterdave.

The stone etched Constitution allowed slavery and didn't allow women to vote. How about them apples?

The statement is self-contradictory - amendments were because it wasn't etched in stone.

Next, if we get a 'liberals' rant - you can find another forum to expound upon.

This one is not for you.

What I said is not self contradictory, only your
comprehension is lacking!!

As I said , the Constitution as it is written, is in plain language
and does not change, expand or contract. It is not a living,
breathing document. When change of the wording is needed
we have an amendment process. That is how slavery was changed,
with the 13th and women suffrage with the 19th.

The 2nd has NOT been changed and contains the phrase " shall
not be infringed" and that , Sir, is what it meant!!!

And don't bother about banning me, I'm imposing a self exile,
because unlike this one, there are many freedom loving sites
(yes, even speech)out there and I have better things to do
than tiptoe around a "forum nazis" like you!!!

Oh, and Obama is a communist and liberals have caused and
are causing the destruction of this once great nation!!!

So long and God bless.

Thank you Glenn...that was awesome.

The basic problem with 2A absolutists is that there is similar wording to another amendment. I never could see how the second could be absolute, but the directive that "Congress shall make no law," isn't.

As the Courts have said, time after time, no freedom is absolute. All of our rights have limits and restrictions. It's the price we pay for living in a society. Any other way is anarchy, which leads to chaos.

Let's take other thoughts about the pending legislation in Florida to this thread, as this one is now closed.

Al Norris,
