Ha ha it says "new low price"

Those cats at CTD are crooks anyway. There is one down the street from my house. EVERYTHING is WAY overpriced. I stopped going there 3 or 4 years ago.

Did I mention CTD sucks and they are overpriced?
 
this price is so high, because:

A) Obama (lolz, so funny!).

B) A Chris Rock skit from a few years ago.

C) A bunch of scared consumers running around and hoarding ammo like chickens with their heads cut off.

just a little quiz.
 
I emailed CTD to make sure that this was the correct price for a box of .380. They responded this morning.

Yes, this is the correct price for the .380 ammo.

This is the craziest thing I've ever seen. CTD won't be getting any more business from me.
 
I'd say that is indeed high. However, I cannot find ANY .380acp in my area. I overheard the clerk at Academy say they cannot keep it in stock at all. You may just have to pay up if you need it.

That's not only nuts but assinine. You ought to e-mail him back and ask if they mislabeled the ammo. For $60 they should be "vampire" rounds with pure silver bullets.

I too have little use for any outfit that gouges prices regardless of the commodity. Screw CTD! Asshats!
 
I noticed...

I noticed their inflated prices several weeks ago when I was shopping for .223 and .308. I had started to type up a "this guy is an opportunist" post then decided not to post it.

I ordered a holster from Cheaper Than Dirt a few months and ago, it turned out to be really crappy Chinese made junk. Returning it was a hassle. I will never purchase anything from Cheaper Than Dirt again.

Not quite as extreme but still off the charts:

I have never shot this crap but I used to see it at gun shows for around 11 bucks
 
I found a box of .380 at my local place. It was 20 bucks for a box of 50. They are keeping them behind the counter, and they are 1 box per customer, per day. I was happy to find it.


Why is this just happening with .380 ammo?! Its not like Obama is banning handguns, just assault rifles, and last I checked there weren't too many assault rifles using the .380 ACP.

Other than this craziness, I've had nothing but good experiences from cheaper than dirt. I can't blame them for doing this - its business. Typical supply and demand.
 
someone on another forum said they do that for out of stock items, that they don't want to backorder. I guess that easier than taking it off the site and they may not know the price for their next shipment??????

I don't believe this explanation for it. Why not just put out of stock, no back orders taken and remove the price. That seems more sensible and honest than giving your company a bad reputation.

Cheaper Than Dirt always was greedy even before the election. Now they are using it as an exuse to justify their greed but I'll bet there are still people stupid enough to pay their price.
 
I emailed them this thread and told them that they are losing popularity among shooters and would they like to stay in business. Will be interesting to see if they care.
 
I believe that their E-commerence software has something built into it that looks at order volumn and quanity on hand and automatically raises the price with no human intervention..............
 
I don't care it's software doing it or not. It's gouging plain and simple. I'll never spend another nickle there. You vote with your dollars guys & gals.
 
I've said in the past that and I'll say it again:

If people are willing to buy a product for whatever price is listed, then it's nobody else's fault except their own. My shop has a box of 50 Rem .380+P+ for $25. Is this high? Well, yes. It sucks. It used to be $8.99 not to long ago. It's called capitalism. Prices fluctuate by supply/demand. If you don't like the prices, I'd suggest stocking up on ammo BEFORE prices shoot up. It's not like we didn't see this coming. Also, just don't be an idiot and buy it at that price just like darrentxs stated.
