Nightstand

On my nightstand. A Glock 21SF loaded with Golden Saber 185gr +P a second mag of the same thing, and a third mag of FMJ's 230gr.

Used to have a TLR-1 but gave it to my buddy as a gift..He's been wanting one and only has one gun :( lol

I have my mag light there anyways.

Between the nightstand and the bed. No kids and no worries about the dog. He does not have opposable thumbs.

Dauff

Inside-- My kids know where it is in case they have to use it. I've always taught my kids the outcome of "no 2nd chances" for "serious and fun".

I don't keep on or in the nightstand -- not because there are kids in the house (there aren't), but because I think about what would happen if someone broke in when we weren't home.

My dresser has a compartment with a hinged door (like a mini-cabinet area), to which I added a lock. When I'm home, the compartment is unlocked and the keys are in the lock (to remind me to lock it when I go out); when I leave, the compartment gets locked and the keys are in my pocket.

i put my ccw in the nightstand before i go to bed. But with no kids( other than the dogs) , I keep the Benelli M4 very close to the bed, and she would be my first choice.

No kids in the house here.

So on the nightstand when I'm in bed. In the nightstand when I'm awake.

(if kids come over its in the safe)

In the nightstand inside a top-hinged strongbox with a push-button lock that I can open in total darkness.

On the carpet under the end table (why end table when it's on the side?) beside the bed. A Ruger Security Six w .38 wadcutters.

No kids, no dogs, no visitors.

Best,

Will

Sleepshooter

Anyone worry that they'd grab their firearm while still asleep? If the body can walk while sleeping, couldn't it also pull a trigger? Especially if your bedtime routine includes some dry-firing of the nightstand gun and imagining defensive scenarios.

Don't know if this is true or not but people can do strange things in their sleep. The story goes that a guy was sleeping and apparently heard his phone ringing, picked his J frame up off the night stand, said hello, and shot himself in the head.
Can't remember where I read it and as I said I have no idea if it's true but when startled out of a sound sleep you can do things you wouldn't do if awake and alert.

On the nightstand (Colt Combat Commander in SS). No kids. Only thing in the nightstand are four loaded 8-round mags

Guess you have more round capacity than me. On my stand next to my recliner, a S&W 625-5 4" Long 45 Colt with six rounds, a CA 44 Spl with
5 rounds, a S&W 642-1 38 Spl (P+) and if I am worried at all, I have one
more to put there. I have no animals, but benefit from neighbors that have them which serves as a warning. Doubled locked deadbolt doors gives me
time, one way into my apartment, unless someone wants shot crawling in thru the windows which would be difficult. I am a light sleeper. No small children nor others to worry about except a disabled daughter who does not roam around. I haven't recognized the necessity yet to buy a shotgun, preferring handguns instead. My round capacity before reloading is 16, not counting the fourth revolver. Just figure on stopping any intruders at the door, that it will be enough but I do have 8 speed loaders close by. :)
