Negligent Discharge at Gun Show

I agree with leadcounsel:

"He knew better. He probably had decades of training and handling guns. He failed and purposefully put his finger on the trigger and pulled it and got a nasty surprise."

I'm a pilot (haven't flown in years) with a few hundred hours of flight time. And I have always been amazed by the number of accidents you see involving pilots with THOUSANDS of hours of time.

Again, please cite stats of actual incidents involving CHLers.

We have had numerous threads on CHL/CCW folks who have had NDs, gone through security at airports, been involved in crimes, etc. A CHL/CCW person isn't any better off than the rest of the population when it comes to brains. They may have less of a criminal record that the rest of the population (it is something of a requirement, often, before getting a carry permit), but that doesn't make them smarter, anymore more than being a homeowner, car owner, etc. makes you smarter. They are just people.
