Nagant M1895 Nagant Dimensions

AIM Got More Nagant Revolvers!

Update from my order: since my FFL was mailing there license in, which might take a while, I was checking my email and noticed AIM got more Nagant's in stock, this time with hand select for date. I called aim, they changed my order and now I have a 1917 Nagant revolver coming to me. That year is special to me as my great grandfather was born that year, and I am the 4th generation with the same name, my great grandfather being the first. That and the fact it's the last year the imperials ever made nagants before the overthrowing of Nicholas II. Does anybody know if the AIM revolvers are actually dated as they say or if it is just the side plate with the old date?

John

I have just completely disassembled mine that I got from AIM to get ready for its bath in Mineral spirits. Mine is dated 1919. And ALL numbers match. I'm a happy man so far. Pics to follow

Here it is degreased, cleaned and oiled up. The action on my '39 Tula is a bit more smooth than this one. But this 1919 Tula has a great bore, all numbers match, good timing, and locks up as good as a Nagant revolver should I guess. I'm happy with it. I did not choose a hand pick option or any of that stuff.

Will do. In the mean time... I wanted to buy some sort of hard waterproof case to store my new pistol in. I had boiled it down to two choices, an ammo can with foam inside custom cut to fit a Nagant revolver, or two, a pelican case. I was thinking the ammo can might be slightly more durable, and much less costly. I would be buying a new ammo can that is unissued. If I were to go for a pelican same, which size would fit the best? Deerslayer, if you wouldn't mind, could you take a picture of your Nagant on a piece of 8.5x11 inch paper for reference. It would be very helpful to me.

Sweet thank you so much. It's looks like a pelican case that will fit a sheet of paper would fit. I'll check with one of my ammo cams to see if it fits.

Resizing those pic to fit the screen size would help folks using smaller devices.....
The free download "Irfanview" makes it easy.

Can't get any smaller than my S5 cell phone and they fit my screen fine.[emoji3] I post to the forum with tapatalk. I forget that it turns out different when viewed from PC. Posting pics with tapatalk is so much easier because I don't have to upload them to photo bucket like I do when using my laptop. I'll look into that program you suggested. Or maybe I can figure out how to down size them on this here fancy phone.

Just got the call, my FFL has my Nagant and I'm gonna go down and pick it up later today. I'll post some pictures before I remove the cosmoline then I'll post some more later after I clean it up.

Here you go! Deerslayer - does your revolver have some minor pitting on the underside of the side plate underneath the wood grips? Mine has a little and I was wondering if others experienced the same pitting.

John

Nice looking revolver for sure. Looks really good. And yes mine does have some minor pitting under the side plate.
