Most UNDERRATED handgun?

Okay, what in your experience is the most UNDERRATED handgun
currently available? I'm talking the "gun that goes bang whenever you pull the trigger, doesn't cost half a year's pay, and
will feed a square bullet....", but you almost never hear about.

ANM

P.S. Thanks, Chaim. This is probably what I should have asked in
the first place.

P.P.S. I'll take the H.E.A.T. round for it......

I have two:
The Russian commercial Makarov and the Phoenix .22. The commercial Makarov with the adjustable sights gets little publicity compared to the military surplus pistols, but it is every bit as good and the adjustable sights are big and easy to see. The Phoenix is an excellent value. I bought one w/ extra barrel and magazine included for $100. I shot it occasionally for a couple years (no problems) and then gave it as a gift to my brother, who was kind of leaning in an anti-handgun direction. It amazes me how owning even an inexpensive pistol can suddenly turn people into solidly pro-gun individuals.

The whole CZ line of pistols is very underrated, and not nearly as popular as they should be. The CZ-75, CZ-83 and CZ-40 are great designs, completely reliable, and very affordable. I'd say they offer the best bang for the buck in their respective handgun classes, but I don't see a lot of them out there.

Ruger Auto-pistols... I had one, and wish I STILL had it... fine weapon forthe price, and worht more than Ipaid, in fit and function!

Bersa Thunder .380. At the lower end of the spectrum; but
it always goes B-A-N-G.

These three are severely underrated:

1) CZ-75D PCR
2) Bersa Thunder 380
3) Firestorm (Bersa) Mini Thunder 40

1)Ruger autos: 90-95% of the performance of the big names at 50-75% of the price. (Also 110% of the size, but let's not quibble... ;) )

2)Bersa Thunder .380: Essentially a new-production PPK variant that's actually reliable and costs less than the GDP of Venezuela.

3)HS2k/XD-x: No longer the screaming deal it was, but still a darn good price for what you get.

Makarovs are rated fairly,theyr'e awesome!
As for an inexpensive reliable piece thats totally underrated my vote go's to Hi-Point.Yah, they have some cast parts and probably won't go 30,000 rounds but theyr'e fun to shoot and go bang when you pull the trigger. At the range,a guy asked to see that "awesome"gun i was shooting so i let him put a mag through my Hi-Point and he said he had to have one.I informed him that it was a race gun and my friend almost died laughing when the guy said "i can see that" to the race gun comment.;)
