Most outlandish gun you have ccw'ed?

I've carried my old, snubbified, Webley MKIII. I don't know if it's "outlandish" but it's different. Wonderful shooter, too.

I used to carry quite a bit for dressier low risk outings, my NAA Mini in 22 lr

then I bought an old S&W #1.5 spur trigger top break 32 S&W, that was chopped to a snubbie before I bought it... I liked carrying that & made a custom holster for it... at this time I also often carried an old Hopkins & Allen Safety Police top break DAO factory snubbie in 32 S&W

then I bought a S&W #2 spur trigger top break in 38 S&W & chopped the barrel to match my lil 32, & made a custom holster for it... this became my everyday gun for quite a while ( in fact I used this to re-qualify for my CCW this last time )

now my everyday carry gun is a custom Ruger Montado in 45 Colt... barrel is chopped to 2", & it wears a stainless birdshead grip frame with a set of checkered buffalo horn grip panels... it rides in a custom holster too

biggest guns were still snubbies, my custom Dan Wesson 44 Magnum, & my Ruger Alaskan in 454 Casull have both been on my belt since I got my CCW... but I tend towards lighter weight guns, & don't carry either very often...

the only autos to make the belt have been a Taurus TCP in 380, my CZ 75 Compact in 9mm, or my CZ Clone in 10 mm

been planning on my 5.7 X 28, but don't have a holster for that one yet...

Carried my Taurus .44mag Raging bull with 8" barrel and scope in a scoped vertical holster tucked high as possible under my left arm a few times in public. Have the big thick military jacket that I wore over it. Can't really see the print of it due to holster covering so much of it but you definately know something is in there, especially with left arm sticking out so much. Was in Wal-Mart last time I carried it and was wondering because of some of the looks I was getting from store employees if they though I was stealing something. Not very comfortable and those few times were only on days that I had been hunting.

My hunting handgun of choice these days is a 5.5" Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt with heavy cast 260 gr. loads. I don't carry a separate "carry weapon" to and from the field, I just wear my coat over the holstered Blackhawk when I stop off at a convenience store or restaurant on the way to or from.

Browning .32 auto I had for a while. It was only under "extenuating" circumstances, . . . and as I carried it, . . . I longed for the Python that was in my dresser drawer back home, . . . hoping I didn't have to use this little pea shooter, . . . but also glad I had the pea shooter in case things went South.

Never had to use it, . . . glad I don't have "experiences" to share.

Now it is a 1911, . . . and even if I still had the Python, . . . it would remain in the drawer.

May God bless,
Dwight

A Jennings .22. Bought it when I just didn't know any better and was so poor I couldn't afford something more powerful (or more reliable). Eventually gave the gun away.

You guys laugh. However I also carry a Desert Eagle sometimes when I go up into the California mountains. Not concealed, but it sure is lighter than a rifle, or carbine

I have rifles and carbines that are lighter than a fully loaded DE .50.

Definitely my .50 AE Desert Eagle....just put rounds 60-80 through it over Thanksgiving. I only fire about 1 box through it each year.
