Most of us "older" guys would prefer

62 in April
In all fairness most of my revolvers are 19 century designs.
Colt 1860's and it's Conversion variants,
some 51 Navies and Richards conversion.

However my CCW is a S&W 36 Chief Special.

I'm an "older guy" and to tell you the truth I have never been excited about any revolver. I have one but it doesn't really do anything for me. A friend has some nice Colts you would like I suppose and I can shoot them but I much prefer the action of a semi auto. So don't count me as one of those older guys.

I would love to have one of the variants, would be nice to have one of the 1st metal cartridge wheelies...just for the history. Mind posting a pic I can drool on? LOL

I"m beyond 70 yrs old. My semi-autos and revolvers are about equal numberwise. I enjoy them all.

What I like the mostest is the Springfield Loaded SS in 9mm.

I'm 57 rapidly approaching 58....I DO have the .357 colt python and let me tell you..I don't know which is more fun to shoot...my python or the colt combat commander .45acp...although I have several other weapons to choose from...I really can't pick a favorite other than for smoooooth, well shooting and as stated.. a piece of art work..it is without a doubt one of the finest hand guns ever made....even let some ruger blackhawk shooters try my python and they loved it....even offered to buy it right there...

but!!....that's just my opinion

Isn't it illegal for any one under the age of 40 to own a revolver:rolleyes: My revolvers average about three to one but I like shooting the autos but love my revolvers:D

I'm 25 and have little to no interest in semis. All the handguns I own are revolvers and my want list is pretty much all revolvers. The only semi they I may ever own is one chambered in 10mm.....maybe. ;)

I'll be 50 on Wednesday, can I vote early?

More semiautos than revolvers.

P.S. You either have too many guns or are getting too old when you have to break out your gun list to figure out how many revolvers vs. semis you own. :)

IMHO a quality revolver is a work of ART and a quality auto loader, as effective as it may be, is a tool nothing more and nothing less.

53 here, and I own about a 50/50 split. Both my pre-lock S&W revolvers and my 1911s are works of art.
About 90% of my shooting is 1911s in .45acp. My carrying (at least in the last year) mirrors this.

I'm past the half century mark, and semi-autos are heartless, soulless chunks of metal and plastic with no charisma, little different than a hammer or screwdriver. Revolvers are a work of art.

I collect revolvers, carry semi-autos. Can't defend yourself with art...:p

We didn't have poly guns or the .40 S&W when I began shooting (except the H&K VP70, and that was in 9mm). Maybe that's why I really appreciate plastic guns in .40.

I'm 38 (not old I guess...right?) and although I love plinking with a 38/357, I'll take my Glock 19 if the chips are down.

Naw... you young guys don't have enough guns if you don't have to check.

55 going on 30

Man you guys are old!!! or You guys are a bunch of Pups!!! LOL

I have always carried Semi-Autos for side arms. My affiliation has always been with a military environment.
I do appreciate a Colt Python, a Diamondback ( I own 4 of them ). The biggest "bang" for your buck was the Ruger Revolvers.

I'm that generation that remembers when S&W had beautiful finishes, what seemed like a 100+ models and only 4 or 5 stainless guns, 4 Semi-Autos and not one 1911. Colt was the Primo...man what can you say about a D Frame or L Frame Colt!!! Unless you bought a Gold Cup a 1911 was going take a lot of work to make it suitable for "work".

Because of the above I think that the new S&Ws (except for the Custom Shop guns) are lacking the details.

Firepower and Reliability is all that counts FOR ME WITH MY CARRY GUNS But I do love a beautiful revolver. My favorite revolvers I own are my (2) 2" Diamondbacks ( .22 & 38spec.) my 4" Diamondbacks (22lr & 38spec) and my 2" S&W Mod.15.

58, and love them all. But revolvers are tough for IWB carry. And fast reload goes to the autos. (Clips over strips) Buy both, and keep the sales brisk. (keeps the left sweating)
