Microstamping passes Kalifornia senate...

It seems to me that the pushing of this law, could work to the advantage of a clever defense lawyer. If current "ballastic fingerprinting technology" is good enough for convictions, wouldn't this BS theory throw the veracity of those convictions out? It seems as this would open the door the same as DNA testing has.

Or get a revolver or shotgun.

That's just what we need... a bunch of punks sawing off their shotties to do their hold ups instead of using a Raven or Lorcin or Jennings. Even if they use a Beretta or Sig 9mm, I'm much more likely to live through a shot or two of that than a sawed off 12/20 guage shotgun.

I WANT criminals using semiautos. More likely to jam due to negligent maintenance, less power than revolvers and long guns.

Sigh.

All I want to know:

Does any gun manufacturer have a working model of a semi-auto that does microstamping, doesn't jam, and doesn't require replacement of the microstamping components (e.g. barrel) every few thousand rounds?

Does any gun manufacturer have a working model of a microstamping handgun, period?

No more Glocks for Kali?:( Seriously though Kali will burn like it did on 4/26/92 without guns!! Get out while you can and dont look back!!

Most foreign manufacturers deal with countries that already have extremely restrictive laws including the banning of civilian gun ownership. Their bread and butter is military and police sales so they'll continue selling in Cali, one version with the imprinting and a jacked up price and the other exempted model to leo or just to leo and forego civilian sales. I think Cali would be a drop in the bucket as far as profit margins go. Most manufacturers will go with it if passed.
