Loyalty to certain brand?

I'm not normally brand loyal, but both guns that I own are S&W revolvers. (An M60 .357 that I carry, and an M317 .22LR that I practice with at the range and shoot for fun.) I doubt I'll acquire more guns; I've got no ambitions to be a collector or the neighborhood armorer. I think this happened mostly because I'm conservative with technology that might take a life or save a life; I'll go for quality and reliability over cutting edge design or price savings any day. I'd consider a Ruger revolver too, but probably not any other brand of revolver currently being manufactured.

I'm a Ruger guy, period. I have six:

Ruger P90
Ruger P89 (Blue)
Ruger P89 (Stainless)
Ruger SR9c
Ruger SP101
Ruger Security Six

I do have one non-Ruger; an RG in .38 that I got when my stepdad passed away. I'll keep that because he was a good guy and treated me well.

I do have non-Rugers on my to-buy list, such as a Stoeger Cougar, and a Stoeger Coach Gun, but Ruger has products that meet most all of my foreseeable gun "needs", such as the Redhawk and Mark III.

At some point I will almost certainly branch out into non-Rugers, however.

I will buy American made first before I look to anything else.

Well, I will admit that I will more heavily consider U.S.-made than anything else, but it's still not a deal-breaker if they're made elsewhere. That being said, I haven't bought any non-U.S.-made firearms yet.

I look at all but I am partial to Beretta for pistols and Marlin for rifles (maybe it's just the cowboy on the box .

I've got firearms by Kahr, Kel-Tec, S&W and a variety of others, and I like them all, but wouldn't say I'm loyal to those brands. The only manufacturer I have more than one firearm from would be the Izhevsk arsenal.

I didn't know there were so many ruger fans out there.

But like many others, I'm more loyal to particular models as opposed to brands.

i guess I'm partial to firemarms from a certain country if not a certain brand. Sig and HK seem to know what makes a good gun in my mind. I would carry something else if I had to but if I'm spending my money it would probably be on a 45acp from one of those two companies.

It's more about the design than the name on the design.

Lets see, brand loyalty, I've got Anschutz, Styer, Browning, Colt, H&K, Sig, Taurus, Ruger, S&W, Springfield, Glock, Uberrti, Beretta, Bernardelli, CZ, EAA, Walther, High Standard, Kimber, Mauser, and Luger, I guess that whould be a no on brand loyalty.

Have no brand loyality, I just buy guns that have a reputation for quality and realibility. If it don't go bang when the trigger is pulled, I say bye bye if it's an HK or a Taurus. I don't like to hassel with a gun to try to get it consistant, that's the manufactures job. If your Taurus pleases you and meets your needs....God speed and party on. If you pay high dollar for a custom 1911 and can afford that and you want it....whatever cranks your tractor is fine with me.

In revolvers I prefer Smith & Wesson; In semi-autos I like Colt and CZ. However, I'm not married to those brands, I'll buy whatever suits me.

I suppose part of that could also account for my affinity for Rugers in that 10 of my 16 are from two particular models that I love: the GP100 (6) and the SP101 (4).

I still like the other six though ;)

"In revolvers I prefer Smith & Wesson." I have to agree with that. I have 10 right now. For autos I'm not so single minded. I have 3 Browning 9mm's, but also have a Sig 9mm, Colt 380acp, CZ and NAA 32acp, and a Ruger 22. Basically, the first things I look for in a gun store are S&W and BHPs.

I give Sig Sauer a look first to see if they have what I'm looking for. Once that is done I will look to see who has what I want. I have more Sig pistols than any other brand. I also have Beretta, Taurus, Walther, Browning, CZ and a CZ clone. I hope I didn't leave any out. Now for Shotguns I prefer Remington. I'm not much into rifles so I would go with what ever seems to fit the bill there. I have preferences but I'm not tied to any one manufacture.

im not loyal to one but i am loyal to several and do prefer them....glock,hk,sig are my top three but i also like all the rest.....hell its hard for me to not like a gun. it has to be a real POS for me to hate it

get a 92fs you won't be sorry man,i pretty much like all the big names....they're big for a reason. also like some small names....i abhorre kimber, para and taurus though

Just bought my first handgun, a CZ-82, made in 85'. Its turned out to be a great gun son far. Looking into getting another CZ, possibly the 83 civilian model.
