Loyalty to certain brand?

In a way, I'm very loyal to Ruger firearms across the board, but I have very little loyalty when it comes to handguns, simply because I feel that brand difference is so much greater when it comes to handguns that it's pretty hard to find one specific brand that makes a pistol or revovler for all situations.

there was a time where I was a Remington fan but with the recent issues with the 597s I no longer am a Remington fan. I mostly owned shotguns and target guns.

I now have 2 S&Ws and a Taurus in hand guns

I've been loyal to Colt SAAs, 1911s, New Frontiers, Cobras and ARs.
Browning HP 9mms and rifles.
Ruger Blackhawks.
Smith and Wesson N frames and the 41 auto.
Manurhin Walthers.
CZ 52s.

I've been loyal to them because they've been loyal to me!

I'm loyal, as long as the manufacturer continues making what I want at a certain quality level for a reasonable price. My go to guns are my two SIG 229 .40. When in doubt, I will purchase SIG pistols. However, their change to American manufacture makes me wonder if they are the same. I do not own any American made SIGs.

I was also loyal to S+W revolvers, but no longer. Since they forced the locks on me, I choose to no longer purchase them.

While I certainly have "brands" and/or models that I prefer, such as Springfield Armory (XD40SC/XD45ACP) or Sig Sauer (P220/P226/P239), I would not necessarily say that I am "loyal" to these, in terms of simply dismissing all other contenders.

It just so happens that, up to this point, the previously mentioned brands/models have met my needs and expectations over the years.

Generally, it depends on which caliber I am wanting at the time, along with how the weapon is to be used. From here, the comparisons begin.

When in doubt, I will purchase SIG pistols. However, their change to American manufacture makes me wonder if they are the same. I do not own any American made SIGs.

From what I have gathered, not all "current" Sigs are bad. It really seems to depend on which model one purchases. Sure, I won't argue that the new Sigs compare to the older models, but I would not write them off completely.

The newest Sig I own is a 2008 model P220. I have yet to encounter one issue with it after hundreds of rounds. It shoots just as well and is every bit as reliable as my 1993 model. Of course, I have yet to fire the "latest" Sig, so maybe things have substantially changed since even 2008. I dunno...

I stick to Remington for shotguns. I have several 870, 11-87, 3200 and a 1100(1100 is my father's but just the same). They seem to fit me well and to this day I have not one single complaint about their products, which I use and abuse regularly.

I stick to S&W for revolvers. I just like them better. I have eight of them again with no complaints. I also have a Taurus .22 LR. 9 shot which I love.

Pistols I have one Colt 1911, one SW 1076, Beretta 92, Taurus, a Glock, a Luger, a Browning HP, a H&K. Looking at Beretta for my next purshase.

I am loyal ....but its because they are the best gun I can find, in my opinion, in that configuration - that fits me:

1911's - Wilson Combat ...
DA/SA semi-autos - Sig Sauer ....226's, X-Five and 239's ...
Revolvers in any caliber - S&W but all pre-internal frame lock...
Shotguns - all Browning ...mostly Citori Over Unders in a variety of gagues...

There's just something about owning and shooting and old Colt.

It's kind of like someone asking what engine you have in your hotrod and saying "Bigblock" or "Hemi".

"Iconic" comes to mind.

While I've owned and enjoyed handguns made by CZ, Walther, Taurus, Colt, Ruger, Norinco, and H&R, I must admit that I'm drawn to S&W products more than anything, revolvers in particular.

I buy whatever I think is appropriate for the circumstances.
Brand loyalty fan-boys are annoying.
Raa Raa Jennings! Raa Raa

Hey don't pick on my Jennings, I have two full mags through it without a repair!

No I am not brand Loyal, that's high school kid stuff. I buy what I need and fancy at the time and that which has a good rep with it. Without being brand loyal I notice more Rugers than any other brand.

and no, I have no Jennings lol...

No real brand loyalty. I consider myself partial to Colt, but I guess I'm partial to Colt and Ruger, as I have the same amount of each, and it's more than all the other makes I have.

Not that I haven't considered other handguns, but I've only ever purchased Smith & Wessons. I'm not a blind fan, that's just what I've wound up liking on each purchase.

Let's see -- Brown, Baer, Wilson, Colt, Dan Wesson, Sig, STI, and Springfield Armory. And that's only my 1911s. I do pretty much stick with SW and Colt for revolvers, but mostly because I like the older guns.
