Loyalty to certain brand?

No brand loyalty. I do prefer US made arms and that they have the same form factor. The more I use my M&Ps the less I care for the extraneous safeties on my other pistols. Even to the degree that each M&P must be configured the same - no mag disconnects or thumb safeties.

+1 for US made brands

Of which, I own several.

Smith and Wesson is in the lead in my safe, and is most likely to be the brand most purchased in future.

Remington follows.

Then I have one each in flavors of Ruger, Kahr, Dan Wesson, and Fusion.

Of the foreign guns I own, I'll probably keep the CZ75B, and my mother adopted the SIG P239.

Trying to make room in my safe for more Made in USA boomsticks, and to raise funds for same, so if anybody is interested in a BAR 7mmMAG (1981, made in Portugal) or a recent vintage CZ75D PCR at reasonable prices, give me a shout.

As far as specific brands go, though, I have had favorable experiences with S&W customer service. Friends of mine had had warranty repairs done by both S&W and Ruger on guns they'd bought second (and bigger number) hand, after telling those companies that the guns were bought used. S&W and Ruger still repaired those weapons, quickly, for little more than cost of shipping.

That kind of thing will build brand loyalty.

Going by numbers it looks like I favor Ruger (10/22, Mini-14, SP101 3" .357) and S&W (908S, 317, 649), since I've got more of them than anything else... but most of the guns on my wish list are Rugers. I'd definitely like a GP100 to keep my SP101 company, maybe a Single Six or Bearcat, I'd love to have a P95, an M77 in .223... the list just keeps going. Wouldn't at all mind getting my hands on another Smith; I still want a Chief's Special 9mm and a pre-lock .357, but the Rugers are much more affordable (and S&W is still in the doghouse over the PPK/S recall).

Also have a Mossberg (590 Mariner), a Colt (Stainless Commander .45), a Walther (PPK/S), and a pair of Henry AR-7s. Another Mossberg is already on my wish list, I 'need' a full-size 1911 to keep the Commander company (must be a Colt), and I'd very much like to have a Henry levergun... the PPK/S is the anomaly; I love it to death but I don't think I'd buy another and am not a fan of the more modern Walther offerings.

For the most part, I'm loyal to what I've tried and liked- I can't think of any niche I couldn't fill with another gun from one of the manufacturers above, so I'm unlikely to branch out any further for the time being.

I have greater respect for some brands than others, as well as some nostalgia, but I am definitely no shoe-in. I like a nice variety of firearms, which includes different manufacturers. The more, the merrier. :D
