Lets have a little fun, 1 company 1 gun

That's because I managed to snag a basic R1 1911 brand new a few years back (so I think that still counts) for only about $420 after sale price and rebate and the like. So I'm going to round down and say that counts.

Ok, you round down on the price a bit and I'll round up on "a few years back", and pick the Browning BDA .45 that I bought NIB for $369... in 1980

Browning is still in business, as is SIG, so they qualify as "current " manufacturers, right??

I think the OP's restrictions, particularly a $400 price cap are intended to make people focus on small "pocket" class guns, or cheap crap, but I could be wrong.

To me, its like saying "choose a girlfriend, you only get one for your whole life, and she has to be between 19 and 23, and can't weigh more than 97lbs. What family name do you pick??"

I'm over 60 and MARRIED (to the same woman) for 40 years come August...And I have several handguns so neither version of the question really applies to me, even in fantasy land.
