I know if I had any money right now I'd be pounding the pavement looking for a Beretta 92G Elite II before they all disappear (getting tricky to find right now as-is). Depending on your size, dress, and carry-style that might or might not be CCable (I know it wouldn't be for me.)

You could always get something ridiculous like an AR-15 Handgun :P

You haven't got any Glocks, but I assume you've already looked into them and don't care for them much. That said, my G26 is a great carry piece.

How about a CZ P-01 or a Kahr?

How about a SA Professional Model?? You might be able to find a nice 'pre-owned'..........

Regards,

I'd go Springfield TRP and with left over money, I'd buy a couple of upgraded mags (Chip McCormicks), a good leather holster and some ammo. That ought to take care of your $1600.

Sorry - you already have a 1911. Missed that on the first read. :o

Might not be a bad idea to apply the funds to a nice reloading setup and plenty of brass, primers, powder and bullets.

If you MUST spend the money why not consider:

Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special
Springfield TRP and some accessories
H&K45 and accessories
H&K P30 and accessories
Two Glock 17s (or Smith & Wesson M&P9s)and accessories

Boy, I LOVE "spending" other people's money! :)

Save your money; the World Economy is heading for a crash...

Do you realize how oxymoronic that statement is?

Yes, hold on to all of that paper that would be completely worthless as anything other than kindling, if the world economy crashes. Don't buy 2 or 3 firearms that would have tangible value in a crisis scenario. Great strategy.

How about a S&W Model 952? Beautiful gun, something different, about just in your price range.

Oops, didn't see the part about CCW. Sorry about that, I was too busy spending your money on my lustful gun desires.

Yes, spend your money on superfluous goods. You cannot drink firearms, nor can you eat them now can you? I think they are worth more than any exotic handgun. A bit of fuel, hand tools, steel door and door case, boots, sleeping bags,... , there are many things that one will require more than firepower, which if used will certainly be taken from you anyway in the scenario depicted.

The OP has indicated that he has several firearms and it doesn't require $1650 worth for a SINGLE handgun to defend one's self. But he will do what he will - just as we all will and who am I to interfere? I simply sowed a seed that he may consider and nurture without giving him more info that is only shallowly mentioned here.

Duke, I know I will be in the minority here; but for what its worth, my favorite pistol is my 9 mil Baby Eagle/Jericho 941, small enough for CC, it is a wee bit heavy at 2.8lbs loaded but I like the heft and you will enough money left over for to spend on other things. Good Luck.

1. It looks like you need a 22 Semi auto. Find a nice S&W 41, Hi standard Military H-D, colt woodsman. Or get a 22 conversion for one of your 45s. Spend the rest on ammo and you will be amazed at how much you will shoot.

2. Set up for reloading and have some real fun and save money in the long run.

3. Get 10 extra mags for all your SA and a LOT of ammo to shoot/stash.

Those would be my top 3 choices and they are in order of what I would do. Thats my 2 cents worth and it worth what you paid for it.

Find a pre series 70 combat commander. or a very nice early commander alloy

A nice python,,

Perhaps a nib Colt's woodsman MatchTarget

or a pair, a 4 and 6 inch Colt's Woodsman.

Maybe a S&W 41

A USFA Colt retro 1911

lots of options.
