If you had to use 1 handgun for the rest of your life what would it be?

^^^^^Very nice, I used to have a Gold Cup......
Finely I made my decision between 2. Sig P226, and CZ75.
If it have to be only 1, than it's CZ 75.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Editing.....If it's 1 handgun only, than it's Colt Python .357 magnum.
I know this is the semi auto forum, but if I were limited to one handgun only, I would choose either a Smith Model 66 or my Ruger SP101 (3").
The .38/.357 platform offers the most ammo choices for both sport and defense. A Blackhawk .357 with a 9mm conversion cylinder would be great too, if I were willing to accept single action and the extra bulk. I don't know of any convertible DA guns. If I were looking at one semi only, it would be my BHP.
Probably about to start shooting a lot of black powder revolver stuff....
But to answer the op, I'll never be without a Glock 19.
ONLY 1? This would be it:
Sorry about that couldn't help myself. Seriously though, I would assume this is a SHTF kind of situation and would probably go with a heavy-duty S/DA revolver of some sort--though it is hard to give up on the notion of not using quick change mags I think the overall robustness, reliability and ease of maintenance would trump a slide semi-auto for me. Tough question.
>>Glock 23. Can get 9mm and .357 Sig conversion barrels, and .22 conversion kit.<<
Ditto....
FN Five Seven
makes a small enough hole to take small game without ruining the meat, good terminal ballistics, half the weight of 9mm, good penetration, high velocity out of just a 4" barrel and has multiple ammo types to suit most needs, including defeating body armor, extremely light to carry loaded and very high capacity for a pistol
my only concern would be four legged predators. for that I'm sure I'd wish I had my 10mm, .357Mag or .44Mag platforms
I find it interesting (perhaps a sign of the times) that while the OP specifically asked what automatic pistol you would choose nearly 10% of the posters (so far) named a revolver.
To those who named a revolver, then named an automatic, I understand. For those who only named a revolver in response to the question of which automatic you would choose, I suggest further practice with reading comprehension. :rolleyes:
You'll need really big shirts to cover a .44 Auto Mag, but a field jacket works ok. Not something practical in high summer, though. ;)
My answer?, I would keep the Colt Government Model that I inherited from my father. I considered keeping my Auto Mag, or my Coonan, and each of the others I have, but in the end, my sense of sentimentality won out.
I find these "if you were limited to one" kind of questions mildly interesting, but meaningless. Anyone who already has more than one gun probably does also. For those of us with a few dozen, even more so.
Now, if you said you were only going to buy ONE to serve for the rest of your life, which would you choose? I'd find that a more relevant question.
springfield XDM45 compact. concealable, powerful, accurate, reliable, and good capacity.
I love the guys listing models that aren't even on the market yet as their 1 gun.
Tough crowd here on Friday, BUT RIGHT ON POINT
My choice is a 1911 chambered in 45 acp
Well, except neither the questions nor the answers make any difference given there's no context. :)
"What's your favorite color? Is green a good choice?"
Does it really matter if someone answers "Large." ? I don't think it's all that big a deal in this case.
No question in my mind, it would be a 1911 .45 . Probably the biggest
bang for your buck anywhere. Or maybe not. I've also got a couple of
real nice 9mm's that could easily make the grade.
Dam , just too many good answers to that question.
Ever stop to think that they answered the question in the thread TITLE?;)
Don't you just hate it when the thread title doesn't match the opening post? Every time that happens I fry a few more brain cells -- and I don't have any to spare.
