If you had to pick only ONE 40 S&W CCW pistol What would it be

Glock 23. It is accurate, reliable, small enough to carry concealed for most people, but large enough to enjoy at the range.:cool:

OK - this thread is patently flawed. How can anyone be expected to pick ONE, single, solitary, sole, handgun in .40 S&W. This is impossible and completely unfair.

NOW, it's easy to pick TWO handguns in .40S&W. They are listed below in random order (since no one can pick the best ONE):

* Glock 23

* Glock 27

Next time, please exercise better judgement before selecting your topic. ;)

dawg23 got it right about buying both. Have had a Glock 23 for a couple of years, and just picked up its baby brother (G27). Both have night sights, and the 27 wears Pearce +1 extensions. I like the 23 a lot, and the smaller package 27 is only slightly thicker than the Kel-Tec P11 it replaced. Guess if I had to choose today I'd go with the 23, as I've several thousand rounds down its tube, while only 50 thus far through the 27. But I'm guessing the 27 will get carried more in time.

I do only have one...

...& it is a TAURUS PT940. I honestly think this is one of the most under-rated pistols on the market. Although a little bigger than some of the guns mentioned in this forum, with an alloy frame & short barrel it is managable for CCW. Mine is as reliable as any gun I own & more accurate than a bunch of them. Check one out before you buy.

The Glock 27 is a winner for concealed carry...quit accurate at combat distances with 9+1 capacity,lightweight and not prone to jams.A favorite of local LE for backup and off duty carry.

Pre-agreement S&W

I must say that my carry pistol is a USED, even if it was just one mag, S&W 4013TSW. Absolutely PERFECT size and fit.

No doubt in my mind. Can you say Glock 27? You can buy two spare barrels and shoot 40 S&W, 357 Sig, and 9mm. All you need is a 9mm magazines and a fitted barrel for 9mm. You only need a barrel for 357 Sig. Have you ever shot a 357 Sig in one of these pistols? Flash and roar! What a hoot. Got the feeling I like the Glock 27? You betcha. Regards, Richard
