If you could only own one handgun . . . .

so what ur saying is one of my arms ahs been surgically removed, thats the only way i can see being limited to 1 gun.

but seriously, if i had to pick (given my range time today) i would go with my Kimber PRO CDP (4" barrel 1911 .45ACP). She's lite on round count, but shes a nail driver.

I would like to say a Browning High Power but because the BHP magazine holds only 13 rounds I'll stick with my CZ75 and it's three extra rounds. 16 + 1 is a lot of firepower.

Simple, one that is practical and usable under many circumstances.
It is one of the first I ever bought and still have and use. A Ruger Super Single-Six .22 stainless. Disqualify the interchangeable cylinder for .22 mags if you wish, I rarely use them anyhow.

S&W M41. I can buy lots of bullets for it, it doesn't attract much attention while shooting it and is useful for both plinking and small game hunting. If I need a bigger gun I'll shoot somebody who has one and steal it. ;)

One gun from my collection? It would be my S&W 3" model 66. Ability to use both .38 Special and .357 Magnum ammo. Good carry, HD and range gun. Great trigger. Adjustable sights for various ammo. What's not to like?

+1 - my variant being the similar and best-of-all-revolver-worlds (IMO) fixed sight 65LS - Lady Smith. 3", full shroud, satin stainless.

If It "had" to be an auto for some reason, a 1911 of reputable manufacturer in .40 (could find it all the time this past year when .45 was absent). Otherwise, an Ed Brown Special Forces Carry (Bob).

Why would I choose the 27? Because it is, for me, the perfect handgun.
For many of us the M-27 is the perfect handgun.
Yes, it's a lot of metal and wouldn't make a great carry piece.
Yes, it is big and heavy and is not easy to tote around, but it’s still as close to perfection as any handgun has ever been. The aviability of ammo it can and will safely shoot, everything from low power 38 special target loads to full power hunting loads.
So, if push came to shove, I'd make due with the 27.
I would not have to make do my M 27 would be my first choice, and anything else would be a distant second.

Now if I had to pick two that would be a much harder decision.

Well, obviously, I'm with you on this one. I have a significant callus at the base of my right (shooting hand) thumb as a result of shooting hundreds of rounds of .357 through my 27. No matter how much I shoot that gun I keep coming back for more. For a long time I shot nothing but 158 gr. magnums with that gun but, lately, I've taken to firing the 125 gr. screamers. It's so much fun it should be illegal:D Seriously, however, I can't think of a better all 'round gun. It's a superb target gun and a fantastic defensive weapon as well. Big? Yes, indeed, but there's not a milligram of surplus steel on it. I love my 27!

That situation would be a bummer,:( but I would have to go with a high quality .357 Revolver witha 4" Barrel & SS finish.

Versatile & reliable. (Ruger GP-100)

This again?

One handgun, what would I pick?

My P22

Discussion of that choice should at least make this g-round different!

Probably a Dan Wesson 10mm Commander Classic Bobtail. Can be carried, and is easily powerful enough to hunt with.

Of the ones I already own,,,

I would have a difficult time deciding,,,
But it would probably be Stella,,,
My Model 15 S&W.

Simply because I hit better with her than any other handgun.
