If you could only have one handgun what would it be?

3-inch Smith & Wesson 686P

3-inch Smith & Wesson 686P. Smooth, accurate, good looking. 7-shot capacity and good power, yet civilized in recoil. A compromise size gun/barrel that is okay at the range, as a nightstand gun, and for concealed carry on a proper gunbelt.

I intended nothing sinister starting this thread.

I saw on the series "Handguns" on the Outdoor Channel a similar topic for an episode, that's why I initiated this thread.

My Springfield TRP 1911. It makes a perfect range gun and HD gun and mine has been 100% reliable. Howver, due to its size, it makes a decent CCW gun but that is a trade off I could live with.

My choice would be a Ruger Blackhawk convertible .357/9mm. Darn near indestructible, and lots of ammo choices.
Not my first choice, but a real strong contender. I like the way you think!

"If" I were lucky enough to shoot them all at least then I could make that decision? Sorry can't answer this one!:D

If I had to choose just one for the rest of my life, it would be a Wilson Combat CQB Compact in .45 ACP. The reasons: (1) I love .45s. (2) I love 1911s. (3) The 4" barrel is good size for carry without taking as much accuracy away as a 3". (4) Wilson Combat makes one heck of a quality weapon.

Ruger GP100 357 Magnum.

I am so glad I can have Glocks and 1911s and all my other fun and preferable toys for self defense and range use.. but if I had to limit myself to one gun for the rest of my life, I want it to be a gun which will last me my entire life no matter what hell it endures.
