If you could only have one handgun what would it be?

Colt/Springfield/Kimber 1911A1 with a beavertail, and only one saftey but a bit extended. Novak Night Sights this gun would already have been made ULTRA reliable. A nice holster with plenty of mag holders and mags as well. I'll carry 12 + 1 8rd mags of 45ACP 
I choose this because it would be the gun I would have the best chance with, I shoot the best with it. (CZ75 SP-01 if mag capacity was a major factor, for example zombies

going to assume that it would be cheating to opt for any of the multiple
caliber, 'drop in' barrel models. So if it came down to just one pistol, it would
have to be a 9mm (plenty of ammo around) and I would probably go with the
Glock 19. It just has so many qualities going for it in a really adverse, survival
type situation.

Out of my safe I'd have to take my 28-2 with 6" barrel, for all the versatility reasons stated in previous posts.

The 686 in my opinion is the most beautiful revolver that has every been created, the 4inch Barrel is the best to, I want one now . Is the 2inch small enough for a BUG you think.
. Is the 2inch small enough for a BUG you think.I'm all for the 686 also. But then again, I might probably go for a S&W model 29 in 44 mag. for stopping power.
If you gotta have one gun, and no set mission for it, I guess I would have to go for the best all around cartridge, the .357 mag.
So that leaves me with finally choosing the S&W model 27. All around cartridge, reliable as heck, and heavy enough to dampen recoil. It also fits my hand sooo well.
Close, call, there, to go 357 or 44...
