I'd just keep my Norinco Model of the 1911A1 and spend the money on ammo. I don't think I have over $400.00 in the pistol now but I'll use that figure and have $600.00 for another 3,000 + rounds of .45 ammunition.

I have a Ruger P90 and am quite pleased with it, but if I had the money I would love a desert eagle 45, but I think that one is $1600.00, If is a big word.
Na I'll just stay with my P90

Depends.

For target shooting, plinking, and fun, a 1911 from anybody from Springfield to Wilson would be fine.

For defense,a Sig or Glock.

I'm actually in this exact boat, I'm graduating college next semester, and I've decided to get myself a graduation present. $1000 is my self imposed limit.

So far I'm going with what SVT said, Wilson KZ-45.

10+1, its a Wilson(pride of ownership), tritium sights, armor-tuff finish, guarentee of 1 1/2" groups at 25 yards, and whats supposed to be the best customer service there is.

My G30 for above state reasons.

I didn't know desert eagle came in ANY 45 caliber? 357mag, 44mag, 440 corbon, 50AE and i think they used to come in 41 mag too. no 45's there.

my mistake sorry I thought they some one told me that there was a desert eagle in that model, at any rate the desert eagle is a fine gun, has anyone fired the 50 cal. I wonder what the recoil is like.

My Two Tone Sig 220 would do me fine, If I had to pick a 1911 type I would have to go with Ed Brown, if he would make a gun that cheap....

Glock 30......

Sam- I fired the Eagle in .50 once..thats all I wanted to do after shooting it ONCE!

Seriously, it sure as heck has a pretty good kick to it. I don't even think I hit the paper at 7 yards...you want to talk about flinching :)

grapeshad, I bit it did
it really surpizes me that it did not
break your rist. Sorry I just don't
see the need for a hand gun that big.
Unless your one of those guys that feels
he has to have something that no one else
has. Thanks for the input.

Easy question. Whether $500, $1000, or $1500, the answer's the same;

Glock 30

Compact, concealable, accurate, reliable, powerful, lightweight, easy to shoot well.

If I owned a .45 it would be a Ruger P97. Great companion to my P95. Spend the rest of the $1000 on ammo, and mags.

Wilson Combat KZ 45. While I don't have a
Wilson at this time I do have a Millenium
Protector in mind for my next purchase.
IMHO I might as well get everything I
want right out of the box. No? :)
