I want SMALLEST most RELIABLE .380?

Gottta put my vote in for Colt Mustang Pocketlite.

This thing is 12oz. Awesome reliability and accuracy. Just screwing around the other day I popped a few rounds at the 50yd line.....SCARY how accurate the little gun is: all in the black (not a group but hey..I was amazed to even print).
No mods. Right out of box. Love it. Really Love it.

I prefer the single action Mustang because I'm a long time 1911 shooter. If you prefer double action get the Pony (really hated the feel of that one though).

Here's a page hosted by SMA who are smiths dedicated to the small carry piece. There is a discussion forum there that I found helpful in picking my pocketlite:

Holster: I am using a simple neoprene Uncle Mike's IWB holster with thumbstrap and I carry the damn thing EVERYWHERE. Hardly notice its with me.

Ammo: Federal PDP (hydrashock) 90gr.

By the way, did I mention how much I like that darn Mustang Pocketlite?

C'mon..drink the coolaid..join the club.

ColtDriver,

I have used .22, 9mm, .45 and all of them are exceptional. I have not had a .380 to shoot but have corresponded to several folks about the .380 ammo as well and in addition to it being "explosive" like the other calibers, each of them claimed it to be quite a bit more accurate than other rounds! Some folks claim that .380 is inherently inaccurate but the folks who used the Quick-Shock claim it is as accurate as they are with the best pistols they have shot in other calibers...

My vote is obvious :)

Yes, that canny Scotsman does fantastic things to the wee pistols.

Just don't send yours to him during salmon fishing season. :)

I also have a custom Colt Pony Pocketlite. Mine was done by Showgun. He is a one man shop near Miami. Very good work, but slow getting it back to you. I practiced shooting Bowling pins with it at the local range. I would guess it to be about 29 feet to the back of the table where I set up the 5 pins. I can pretty consitantly clear the table in under 6 sec. with 5 to 6 shots. I am a good but definitly not a great shot. I think this is darn good for a pocket pistol. I have found three good ways to carry this pistol here in Fl. No. one is take some 1" foam and make a pocket bumper so the pistol + the foam matches the shape of a billfold and carry it in your front poket. It prints just like a walet. Second Galco belt slide holster, strong hip side, under large T-Shirt. Third same holster infront of strong hip also under T shirt. 1 and 3 are My favorite ways. I like No. 3 best because its easy to get to when seated in a car and I can bend over with out worring.

Best Regards

Colt pocketlite series, either the gov't. or especially the mustang. Had one and I am sorry I got rid of it. 12.5oz. Never malfunctined. I made a pair of super slim grips from hobby finishing plywood. They were about 2.5mm thick each. A feature in the colt series, which is nice, is the Browning linkage. This reduces felt recoil significantly when compared to the blowback fixed barrel systems like Sig and Walther.
