Hunting dog names

Well, my german wirehair is named Gunner, and the name works real well for him - and us. Nick-names are Gun, Gundog, and Gunsmoke (his regestered name). If ya wanna use the name, we'd be honored:)
I kinda thought Carl was good, and if he ever sires a litter, you could call them Carl's Juniors. jd

Hey dovehunter, thanx for startin such a fun thread.
If you do name yer little feller Gunner, that makes me plenty happy. I just hope that you enjoy your buddy as much as we do ours. I wouldn't recomend that anyone spoil their dog as much as we do though. We just can't seem to help ourselves.:o jd

After eating the seat and camo tank bags off his quad my buddy had a very long multi syllable name for that Bulldog hog catch dog... I could try to remember the whole name but to post it... or even the @#%& method, Art would be forced to ban me....

I have an idea. Why don't you give him to me and I'll name him. I have some names that I like. Just pick one already.

Now I will have two dogs to fetch all the birds.

I wonder how many pets will be named "Boma" since the election? Certainly none of mine. George never really sang to me either.

Barack? He used to call himself "Barry" in his doobie-smoking college days! How did we fall so far to elect a guy named Barry? In the dog world Barry would be a name you give to a bulgey-eyed chihuahua!!:D

My wife asked me what I was going to name my English coon hound/English setter mix and I said Mike she that was no name for a dog and I said sure it is Mike the dog. I left to go to deer camp and when I got home she said his name is Remington or Remy for short so Remy it is most of the time but some times it is Remdog, Foolish, Damn You or You Son of Bitch. He could care less about coons but he does run mean cat trail.

I picked a name!!

Well, I picked a name for my best friend!! First, I want to thank everyone who read and contributed to the name of my puppy. Thank you. You were a big help. There were a lot of great names. It came down to a few names. Hank, Frank, Gunner, Tank, Jake and Remmy. I put all the names in a hat, tossed hen in the air and let the puppy pick one off the ground. The one he picked was Jake. So Jake he is. I can't believe how hard it was for us to pick one name. It was easier for me to pick a house to buy than it was to pick a dog's name. WOW!!. So, Here is JAKE!!! Thanks to everyone once again.

I guess Jake will do. So are you tired of the puppy yet. When you do just bring over to my house. I'm sure Micah would love it.
